I've tried countless times to actually get into making a map but ever time I run into a bug that I cant do anything about, there is no information about it, or I just don't care enough while being frustrated to the point of deleting hours of work that I give up.

BUG: Terrain tool snaps to a off center part of the map while in use, making it slower and lag more, creating a huge column in the middle of the map that is too much of a pain to fix pretty much destroying my map and and will i had to even work on it

bug started today, worked on the map for several hours yesterday flattened a mod map to use as a start, started working on the layout and some small terrain, started the game today to do some work and i noticed the terrain tool was lagging, turn the camera up and theres a pillar in the middle of my map

Clean install. Only mod downloaded was car jump arena.
had edited the brush size in the editor.xml, deleted it and started the game in safe mode, loaded up utah and its doing it there as well

You need to set view so that you looks straight down, more angle and more likely it is for huge column to happen.

Other workaround is to set terrain so that 0,0,0 is at the corner or even outside of the terrain area.

I'll give this a shot, thanks
    --- Post updated ---

worked for the terrain, forest brush still draws outside of the terrain, making it impossible to remove the misplaced trees because there is no terrain for the brush to sit on and remove trees from, game crashed and i lost hours of work

Save really often and make backups often too, they are working on new editor, so current one is kinda lost cause.

Those trees from 0, 0, 0 you then can remove from the files. There is no really way to avoid editing files as terrain file itself tends to be in wrong place quite so often, then needs manually moved to map folder and several files need to be edited to get it working again.

    Small hiccups.

Make a giant hole in the terrain at 0-0 for like 50+ units to any direction so you have a 100-unit diameter hole in it.
It won't be touched then when the cursor snaps temporarily to 0,0 coordinates (at-least it was fine when I did that).
Remove hole before release, put hole back when working on it, or if your terrain isn't humongous like Roane County, move terrain away from 0,0 - keep in mind you'll have to move many other things too. Best done early!

This bug has happened since BeamNG began. With smaller cursor size it happens less. Work on 0,0 last.
