Really excited about the update, love both the Italy map and the Piccolina But of course...euro plates!! I'll update my spanish plates mod with the new dynamic system asap...and I was thinking about opening boundaries. Maybe an european license plate pack. If no one was working/planning on this, well, I think I'm going straight to it Also, if I'm brave enough, I'll try to convert the Piccolina into a Seat 600, to complete the experience...will be hard, and may never be done, but I'll try anyway.
you mean a full on 600? awesome! i've actually been modeling a fiat 600 myself for quite some time (no pics as i'm on my laptop) can't wait to see what you come up with!
Thanks! I'm not an expert in heavy modding (the Jurassic Park Explorer was my peak so far) but hopefully I'll be able to come up with something here, since the car already looks a lot like a Fiat 600, it shouldn't be too hard. Hopefully...
from my experience the fiat 600 is actually not too hard, once you have all of the images... which are incredibly hard to find... and virtually nonexistent for anything besides the exterior, interior, and engine.
being a huge rally fan, and someone who has a lot of fun drifting touge, italy is heaps of fun. it looks a fair bit worse on the lowest settings than other maps do, which is ironic since on the highest settings it looks better lol. but i'm getting around 30fps most of the time in the mountains. much better than expected. haven't even tried any other maps yet, too excited for italy! i'm not at my wheel rn, and the piccolina is absolutely terrifying on keyboard lol, but i'm sure on the wheel it will be one of the most enjoyable cars to drive. a bit like the bolide i think, really good handling until things go wrong, but i find the most unpredictable cars are the most fun and rewarding. a bit disappointed about the piccolina engine sound. it actually suits the car slightly better than i imagined, at lower rpms especially, but i really hope in a near-future update we get some more suitable sounds for it (like we did for the t-series. it still isn't perfect, but at least it sounds like a diesel now lmao)
Of course the update comes out the day I have finals. Gotta wait 5 hrs to go home and get my PC. Super hyped tho
It makes sense to have update out now as one of the biggest Steam sales is starting tomorrow (sale is currently running), having update and posts before that is surely bringing more interest. What a huge year it has been
I have to go on a road trip today, and I spent what little time I had trying to fix my map. I like the new bolide police car and all the new liveries for the cars. In the few minutes on Italy it ran pretty well.
it looks like they added fresnel shading!! Fresnel Shading "With a Fresnel shader the amount of diffuse reflected light depends on the incidence angle, i.e. from the direction of the light source. Areas pointing directly towards the light source appear darker; areas perpendicular to the incoming light become brighter. Augustin-Jean Fresnel (1788-1827) was a French physicist who contributed significantly to the establishment of the theory of wave optics."
i love this update, the new car is great (especially the rally one) with some rally scenarios, it would be complete
was wondering why my lighting looks like booty now. seems like it kinda messed up the way lowest settings look
Confirmed the textures look way different now on lowest settings They updated the texture compression "Added support for BC7 texture compression. Should be the prefered format for all textures except normal maps. Results in more detailed textures on-screen"
Same here. A bit ugly for lowest. Made some tweaks in settings to look 'normal' but that cuts performance waaay down. So let's see what happens in the future..
