First of all, make sure you only have the newest version of the mod installed, with no other versions in your mods folder. Then exit the game and clear cache (on the game launcher). If it still makes no difference it would be a conflicting mod, to test this launch the game in safe mode (on the game launcher) and activate only the bug.zip. If it fixes the issue there is another mod conflicting. You will need to activate each mod individually until you find what causes the issue. Good luck
It kinda hurts seeing the awesome game updates break the mod over and over again. Esp. if the current bugfix came out like two weeks ago. never mind.. Merry Christmas to all!
That sucks man Hopefully you can get everything fixed. Although feel free to take your time, and spend a couple days just driving around and enjoying Italy Merry Christmas
heyy, we appreciate what you do! Don't make it a full time job, and like you said, they are good updates. Don't beat yourself up over it, we'll get there!
when i load up any beetle in the mod (herbie or not) it says please verify your mod or something and the car doesnt show up
See what I mean? They say they are making sure that mods aren't broken by updates but this happens. Maybe this is why all the mods get cancelled in the end, because the ones that are successful are either cancelled or get broken.
Sometimes you need to sacrifice some mods to improve the game. The devs still try and save as many mods as possible, however they can’t keep everything working. Also, due to the complexity of the mod it’s pretty easy for an update to break it. Anyway, I’m sure the creator isn’t going to give up on Herbie.
Or, modders could try to keep up with game development and update their stuff when it's broken... I've lost count of the times a game update broke my mod, I never abandoned it. And I would call mine a succesful mod.
Thanks for your thought. We spend a lot of time of development maintaining a compatibility layer with older mods (we have an entire sub-system for that), as well making sure new features (especially when they are directly related to vehicles/engines) don't break older mods. We could simply not do that and save up lot of time, but we do. Although please understand it's not that you will never have case where 100% of the the mods will keep working. This happens on most games. This mod is particular, as it uses custom scripts. As similar mods, these are most susceptible to breaking over updates.
