Does the engine support F1 Cars to be present in the game? Probably a silly question, just that this engine seems to have the capability to deliver so much more than other F1 games have, in terms of damage/destructibility.
You can build whatever you want with nodes and beams. http://www.beamng.com/threads/1575-...tributing-post-)?p=97225&viewfull=1#post97225 Here's a Formula car I'm doing.
There was once a rather stunning Lotus 49, but it got taken down because apparently it was using copyrighted meshes. Shame, I was looking forward to using it too, but oh well rules are rules.
Unlike alot of the ripped mesh mods (this one was from assetto corsa) it actually had a properly fitted JBeam which was rather nice. But it had no coltris so was very funky with colliding with other vehicles, it weighed 2 tonnes, engine torque curve was completely wrong and the gear ratios in the transmission were also wrong. It was very nicely animated though, the exposed driveshafts spun and everything. May have driven terribly and may have had funkier than normal inter-vehicle collision, but it was beautiful.
Mhm, I saw it in action on a youtube video. Hell it was one of the reasons I decided to get the full game. I absolutely adore that car and the engine in it and getting a chance to drive one in a video game had my interest for sure. Perhaps someone will get around to making a new one that drives properly and isn't copyrighted? I can only dream.
Mcpherson struts again... Anyway, I believe they are 'possible' just slidenodes make them efficient and keep the node/beam count down.
THE WORDS OF JESUS NOW EVERY PROJECT DAMNED BY mcSLIDENODE STRUTS CAN BE MADE ALBEIT LESS ACCURATELY YES.
Nope. My Chaser had mcpherson struts done like that for a while but it made the steering super vague, makes it handle like a sponge in syrup... I can't believe how long this game has been out for without slidenodes, seeing as the game wants to simulate cars, yet ommits one of the, if not THE most important part of modern cars there is, and for such a long time. It's actually making me lose interest in modding, knowing that almost all the cars I wanted to build can't be made properly(and I'm sure it's halting Gabes and other peoples motivation too). Ibiza: slidenodes, BMW: slidenodes, Chaser: slidenodes, Subaru Legacy: Slidenodes, Audi Quattro: slidenodes... Think the only car that has been on my list for a while that doesn't use them would be an old Charger, but I've already made one for San Andreas a LONG time ago, with an incredibly inaccurate model, so I can't be bothered to redo it. On top of that, steeringrack without contracting/expanding tierods would be nice, and tracked vehicles.
I honestly don't understand why slidenodes aren't the top priority for the devs. When the whole community starts to beg for a behind the scenes feature, you know you have problem. And the race update is destroying this game. Interest is being lost. Customers not buying the game. The forum here is dead. This game is in pretty bad shape right now, in my opinion. The devs are in between a rock and a hard place right now. Anything right now could do tons of help. Anything. If we just got the pigeon or something. Anything. Just a small update. Something.
But think, once the update will be done, you know, when the universe ends or something, sales should rocket up, and interest will peak again. Then again, if the universe ends by then, no one would be able to get it and everyone is dead. Woops. Also to Myth, I agree, and some other stuff here that needs slidenodes: VW Polo: slidenodes; Tracked vehicles: slidenodes; BeamNG: slidenodes. I just hope that this update doesn't bring the devs over the edge and make them lose motivation too.
