Nice pun lol ---------------------------------------------------------------- The comms are so fucked up now the transaction terminal we use can't contact the bank to make the transaction (other shops have the same f*cking problem... except the ones that use a wireless terminal, i can go buy my cookies in peace XD) One of the 2 we have is like this one
That is very unlikely to happen, as i dont live in the southern part of Finland. --- Post updated --- Also fixed my phone today.
There's Alexa on the 2019 Nissan Altima. Now you don't even need to use your fucking keys or hands to start your car now.
This is pissing me off by this point. If you’re outsourcing your LOCKING system to an outside company, what’s stopping them from jacking your car like a jackass.... Plus, I hate these new surveillance devices that allow people to live out their Star Trek fantasies. It’s sickening how much data companies sell because of those things. Remember when OnStar was hacked and people took control of the cars that had them? What’s stopping IOT theives from unlocking and stealing your car?! Honestly, only good ol’ keys work for security. I am such a luddite when it comes to in-car tech. I’m happy that I’m not a data slave to any big corporations either.
They probably already outsourced the locking systems. A lot of cars are just different permutations of Bosche. Regardless, I am not hugely fond of the internet of things in situations where it isn't required. Since it usually involves giving up loads of things for some gimmicks that people won't use, but then they tie it into things that people do use and everything stops working in 10 years time when the servers are gone. I'm not a fan of things that I own having external dependancies that could disappear over night. On a slightly different topic, yay winter.
Thieves already make use of keyless entry. They construct devices that interfere with the key's signal and enlarge its transmission area. One of them goes to your door or stands behind you in line in a store. Another one goes to your car and gets inside, then drives away. Your brand new SUV gone in just over a minute:
Yeah, I realized. That has to be very intentional, however, with a lot of forethought. Spontaneous theifs can’t do that. Keep the keys. Only they work. --- Post updated --- Most locks are outsourced to reliable, dependable security companies, not a company, like Amazon, that runs a surveillance state. Just sayin’.
How do thefts get punished in the residential area you're in? In my case, when catched, they get SERIOUSLY banged up, in cases, even dead. I rode from a newspaper a BURNED ALIVE theft somewere in the state, yep, that's how extreme things get
If it is under 500 euros of value, police usually don't care to bother, but if one does as much as drags thief to police station one that did drag the thief gets very high penalties. Small time theft is a profession protected by the law, but it happens surprisingly little.
