Update Speculation thread

The driver's lock doesn't override anything, child protection is provided by this switch on the side of the door:

 

Child locks in the door frame are actually very common...

... but yeah, that's it, a unified texture for all panels.

 

never heard of that. every single car i've been in has the child locks in the door frame.

 

My dad’s Legacy Outback had the child locks next to the power window switches, but every car since (apart from some rental/friend’s Toyota) has had door frame child locks.

Child locks next to the window switches usually were used in the late 90s and early 2000s in my experience.

 

The lock in the door frame only "disables" the interior door handle but does nothing to the windows. And the electric window lock in the driver's door, as seen on that video of the Renault, only disables the window switches on all passenger doors.

 

Every car I've seen has door child locks in the doorframe, and the window lock just locks the windows (sometimes rear only, sometimes all of them). I assume this is the common configuration in the US, I would assume it's different elsewhere.

 

It's pretty much the same everywhere.

My car has both - a "manual" child lock in the frame, a central lock in the dashboard that can also selectively disable the rear doorhandles - but the lock in the frame is by far the most common solution.

 

Last time I did check, none of windows or doors opened, there is actually no buttons, switches or any handles to operate and all doors are kinda locked.

your right actually, the renault espace i know can do this, the button turns off the windows and doorlocks. Oddly enough it also has door frame child locks. French cars

I don't know how, but my brain read: "lock child in car discussion"

 

I've just read the devlog of the last hotfix and saw, that they mentioned the "new imgui" which is being used for the track builder or scripted AI. It doesn't look as fancy as the current one, but it feels more responsive and probably it is faster overall, which might be the reason the devs replaced the performance graph. Maybe they will translate all that debug stuff and "advanced users experience" imgui.
What do you think they gonna convert from the existing user interface to the new one?

 

I find it more pretty, crisp clear lines and text that is sharp as well as easy to ready without being unnecessarily big, so you can actually fit some information on screen.
