    Boring post warning

This may not be so fun and thus bore so here's another warning.:p

    GTA V:

    - Steering wheels in cars still do not turn with the driver's arms.

    - On the other hand, turning forks of bikes do turn and, impressively, so does the direction of light spread from the headlights.

    - Most vehicles including bicycles, boats and planes feature working, toggle able, headlights at night. Spotlights of cop cars and off-roaders included.

    - Carryovers/variants of cars from IV don't have convertible roofs. The Feltzer was converted to a hard top (ala Black series) while the Manana, Peyote and Banshee retain separate hard top versions. The Stallion and Drop Diamond convertible are not present.

    - The single player version of the Stinger appears to have no roof but has raised windows. Contrast this with the IV closed roof versions of the Peyote, Banshee and Feltzer where roofs were present but not side windows. (I believe the online Stinger has a convertible roof but I'm not totally sure about that.)

    Midnight Club series:

    -
In addition to licensed cars, 3 and 4 had active aero animations for those cars in the form of spoilers and vents popping up at speed.

    - Pretty much all the cars in 4 have working odometers whether digital or analog. When present, secondary/auxiliary gauges like supercharger boost gauges and digital clocks also work.

    - Like the later GTA V, cars in 4 must be repaired in the garage before modification. Repairs are always free here though.

    Need for Speed series:

    - II had active aero animations in 1997(!?!) for the Mclaren F1, Isdera and GT90. All popped up at speed while the F1's also popped up under hard braking.

    - Hot Pursuit (2010) was the first to have such aero animations since Porsche Unleashed (2000). Notably, every car which should have some form of effect, has it. (I'll explain more later.)

    - Prostreet (2007) had corrected 'deep offset' rear wheels for the LP640 and Zonda. Such style of corrections were last seen in Hot Pursuit 2's Lamborghinis.

    - Shift (2009) was the first to have Ferrari (in DLC form), animated drivers, and some form of cockpit view since Hot Pursuit 2 (2002).
(I believe HP2 only had cockpits for two special Ferrari events.)

    - Shift 1 and 2:Unleashed (2011) do not support multiple scales for cockpit gauges. This means that the indicated speeds of most VAG cars, the R35s, the Z06 and some others will not be accurate.

    - The Run (2011) has no driver animations and forgot some aero animations. (E.g. Gallardo's, Huayra's and 12C's.)

    Others:

    - Gran Turismo 3: A-spec was the first GT title to have support for differing factory (stock) wheel designs for front and rears. This means that deep offset wheels (e.g. Zonda) could be visually simulated. The upcoming Forza 5 also finally supports it. (See the Huayra.)

    - Speaking of Forza, 4 was the first with active aero animations.

    - Funnily, in Grid 2, only tier 3 and up cars bother having the differing wheel designs. So too bad for the Nissan Z cars and the C63 AMG.

    - The 2 Murcielagos in Driver San Francisco have the air vents pop up only when the car is heavily damaged. This is funny in an arcade style game as damage = smoking engine which does sometimes mean overheating in reality.

    - Gran Turismo 5 and the upcoming Driveclub have the capability to show working analog clocks. Sadly in 5, as with other interior features, they are not applied to all the cars that should have them.

    - Remember the active aero comment above under NFS? Like GT5's gauges, the application of such features is not consistent.

For example, only the Gallardos in NFS Hot Pursuit, NFS Rivals and the 2 Midnight Clubs have the rear spoiler working. (Thus, shame on GT5, Forza 4, Driver SF, NFS Shift 2 and NFS: The Run for 'forgetting'.)

It's a similar story (though with some differences) with the Murcielago's spoiler. (Not the side/top air vents.)

Hot Pursuit was exceptional in this regard as, while I could complain the angles of deployment and other such pedantic stuff wasn't right, at least every relevant car had some form of animation.

That's enough boring for others I guess...;)

Fun Fact: ASUS' GPUTweak software pops up with a message dialog reading "Your graphics card is being monitor" on boot. They can't English at all, but I'll be darned if I've EVER had a quality issue with their products. Only time I ever had a problem was a few caps broken on the mobo, but the tyre dent on the box wasn't reassuring to begin with.

MSI says the motherboard I have is good for overclocking with it's titanium capacitors and that crap. I contacted them because there was no CPU voltage control in the BIOS or in their overclocking program. (Voltage controls in other programs don't actually do anything to the voltage.) So I'm only able to get the bus speed up 14MHz before instability. The only reason I can get it up to 5.4GHz is because of a glitch (I think) I found in AMD Overdrive where I set the multiplier to 7.5 and it goes to 47. (The multiplier on my CPU doesn't actually do much in terms of actual performance.)

When they replied to me they just said something along the lines of "overclocking is an additional feature" or something like that. I can't contact them again because their customer support page DOESN'T LOAD.

My UEFI on my ASUS P8P67 Pro has options for almost every component you could want or need. I haven't played with them yet (still running stock CPU cooler) but I assume they all work. IIRC there's more than 10 pages of tweakables. Sadly I've never heard anything good about MSi motherboards for enthusiast use.

OT: You can give Steam custom skins.

    Fun fact

theres a pay n spray in GTA san andreas that's not marked on the minimap, ingame map, not listed in the guide, or on the paper map. its by a parking garage in las venturas. and if you use it the camera will move into the garage allowing you to watch your car be re-sprayed. it also has a hole in the floor that will drop you into "blue hell".

A boss character called Binbag was removed from Rockstar's Manhunt early in its development. He was a psychopath wrapped in black refuse sacks.

These seem quite random but I guess a minority would find these interesting.

    - Don Mattrick, the man the internet blames solely for XBox One's current state, was a co-founder of 'Distinctive Software' which made the first 2 Test Drives and Stunts. He was also a designer of the trio and a programmer of the former 2. He was also executive producer of the 1st Need for Speed and eventually a big shot at EA in the early to mid noughties before joining Microsoft.

    - Crashed a plane into the distant sea in GTA V after breaking down at the border? Be prepared for an endless, perhaps terrifying, sea of black as the plane sinks until your character drowns. (Tested when the game launched, could it now be patched so you take pressure damage like in the sub?)

    - Used a boat to evade the 'border patrol' sharks in the 1st Crysis? Be prepared for an endless barrage of missiles from the North Korean navy.

    - NFS Rivals believes that a Lamborghini Aventador is faster accelerating, more controllable and a whole class better than a Porsche 918, among other non acceptable breaks from reality. Sure the Lambo's engine is slightly underrated BHP wise but it's still about 100 kg heavier and less powerful regardless. (The 918 still makes more than 750 combined BHP when the front motor decouples at high speed)
Couldn't inter-car relative performance be preserved at least, if not absolute performance?

    - Speaking of Lamborghinis, the old LP560-4 and the current LP700-4 have, under independent testing at various environments, reached respective top speeds of 335 and 354 kph. Why are these numbers significant? They are all actually gear/rev-limited instead of incurring electronic limitation or being drag limited. Lamborghini is/was annoyingly conservative with the 'entry' level Aventador's top speed and the LP-era Gallardo's performance figures. Another tidbit, all their speedometers are/were wildly optimistic for safety regulations; the Aventador's claimed 370 at 354 actual kph. (The testers used GPS-based testing equipment.)

    - The old Murcielago SV is one of the few AWD performance cars of the past ten years to have a mechanical front limited-slip differential. (Lancer Evos, the current Ralliart, and WRX STis have them too.)
Superleggeras, Veyrons and R35 GT-Rs don't have one. (They use the inside wheel's brake system in corners AFAIK.)

    - On the topic of limited-slips, Driver San Francisco does try to take it into consideration, possibly the only recent arcadey driving game to do so. If I remember it right, try doing donuts in the Mustang convertible (or the AMC Pacer and co) and then try it with the Crown Victoria P71 (or any of the modern RWD sports cars). The Mustang's a 2004-2008 model with the open diff and the rather obsolete 4.0L V6 too.

    - Ending on a really, really random note, the 'key' art pieces of Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim, used prominently in advertising, were not done by the game studios' art departments. I guess this explains why the respective armors don't quite look that way in-game. ('Meduzarts' did them.)

For those who play Gran Turismo. Every notice that there is almost a complete lack of women in the game? Throughout the 6 game series fans have noticed there is almost no woman any ware in the game. There may only be one or two women in a GT game so seeing them is kind of like finding an easter egg. Some fans on GT forums have argued that the game should include women more in the game (at least have a few women in the stands). Not sure if if they have added more in GT6, but there are defiantly women car enthusiasts who would like to see some women in game. Of course weather or not GT is being sexist or just a coincidence is unknown.
