You will need to define a budget first.

Also go for 16GB 3200Mhz CL14 DDR4 and at least gtx1060 6GB if you want gaming computer.

Hey man, I could send a parts list your way, I just need to know the budget, use case (what programs you will use) and if aesthetics are important to you...

    750$? FX6300? It's already out-dated, and it's already YEARS OUT DATED.

    SEND IT BACK NOW!!!

They took you for a walk, bud. I was ready to throw my fx6300 4.2ghz machine (slight overclock, 5% or so) out of the 2nd floor of my house. It had 8gb of 1600mhz ram, 970 chipset motherboard. I ditched that dinosaur over four years ago. I had it THREE WEEKS. An SSD didn't even speed it up.
    Sum of parts NEW:
    970 chipset motherboard: 60~100$
    8gb DDR3 1600mhz: 50$ tops
    FX6300 CPU: 55~65$
    Plastic fancy case: 70$
1TB HDD hope it's not a Seagate: 30~40$ depending on brand
    24X DVD-RW: 20.00$
    450w PSU: 35$
    1050 non-ti 2gb - 130$
    1 copy Windows 10 OEM ~ 100$

So, 600$, plus cost of keyboard and mouse which is like 25$. Now granted, they buy in bulk, so their real cost is considerably (25%) lower, sometimes more/less depending on a few things. It may not seem like alot, but you could have had a Ryzen 2600 w/4gb RX 580 video card (2x the video memory, faster card too) and a processor that's TWICE as fast. Instead of 1tb HDD you get fast but only 500gb SSD.

You not only overpaid for that computer, you bought 5 year old tech based on a processor that was lack-luster and a disappointment when released. I'm not going to sugar coat it man, get out while you can & send it back.

I'm normally a warm helpful and kind/caring person but I get a bit perturbed when I see people ripped off. Please promptly send that back and get the Ryzen model, you'll be glad you did, plus with those you can upgrade your processor. The only AMD processor you want to buy says RYZEN in the name, period. Avoid FX series and avoid older APU's that do not bear RYZEN or ZEN monikers.

Also, when I upgraded to my 4790k machine (built a whole new machine), in 2014, 3 weeks after buying my fx6300 machine, the 4790k i7 cpu was 2x as fast (within 5% of being twice as fast, even though the 4790k is four cores and eight threads, vs the 6-core 6-thread AMD FX cpu). I hated my FX machine. Upgrading to an SSD and that thing didn't even go any faster. It didn't even notice.
Send it back before you're stuck with it.
    --Good luck!

Small correction: the 6300 is a 3c/6t processor.

    But yeah, you’re totally right.

    6c/6t.
The FX 6100,6300,6350 processor series is made of 3 modules. The FX 8xxx is made of 4 modules. The FX 4xxx is made of only two.
Each module has two ALU units, and one 256-bit (but rather lack-luster) FPU that can split into two 128-bit (even more lack-luster) FPU's should the need arise for both ALU units to be actively processing floating point math (FPU = Floating point unit, non-precise math, this is what BeamNG uses for physics, AI routines often use this too). An ALU is an arithmetic logic unit and that is what is defined as a true core. Hyperthreading or AMD's SMT (not available on FX series) is just a scheduler enhancement to allow it to fetch the next set of instructions the second the targeted core accepts and begins to process what it's currently working on. It avoids some of the wait of scheduler delay on fetching instructions, potential cache misses (data not closest to the cpu when needed is a cache miss, can cause more hops in a process, and hence, more lags - even micro-stutter or hitching in extreme cases), and such.
Since an ALU is what truly defines a core, and an FPU being present is NOT required to define a core (just like the old 80386 without it's 80387 chip, or an 80486 SX chip which unlike the 80486DX did not have a math co-processor), the FX 6xxx CPU has 6 cores, and 6 threads, since it does not have SMT.
Compare this to the Phenom II 1100T, which was an immediately previous processor with 6 cores (ALU's), and 6 128-bit FPU's. Sometimes the games, depending on if they use newer instructions or not will actually run better on an equally clocked Phenom II due to the internal structuring of modules and FPU issues associated with the FX line and AMD's module design for them.

6 cores, 6 threads, 3 256-bit FPU's that can go half and half and be 6 128-bit FPU's when the need for more math arises.
Been doing this 25 years. My first computer was an AMD computer, actually, it was one of those pre-Pentium models I listed above. This was back when an AMD, Cyrix, IBM, IDT Winchip, Evergreen CPU Upgrade chips all would all socket right into an intel chipset board. Things were easier back then. Overclocked my 1st chip on my 2nd PC in Feb 1997, a Cyrix PR150+ became a PR166+ with the change of a jumper, and Quake instantly ran smoother. Quake did murder Cyrix pretty well though as the FPU stank. This is not much different then the case of AMD FX processor with BeamNG today (and like-wise APU models derived from the tech).
As previously stated, Ryzen 1xxx is decent though, and Ryzen 2xxx is actually pretty competent and definitely good value for the dollar, especially with recent manufacturing issues with intel (shortages), is recommended.

Please reference Wikipedia on AMD Bulldozer and Piledriver architecture if you need for information on awful FX processors.
They will run Minecraft decent though, so give it to your 10-year old niece or nephew like I did for a Minecraft machine since she keeps dropping (and murdering) her handheld Pretendo gaming console (which I have to then fix).

Except Ryzen 2600 (one without X) seems to have quite low clock speed, which shows up as quite weak single core speed.

While BeamNG really works best with 500 or higher 1 car result, Ryzen 2600 is not reaching level other CPUs are, Ryzen 1600 is even much worse than that, really not recommended:

Some Ryzen models have such low clock speeds that they are not quite what to except, only top X models are competing with Intel, Bob's 4 year old 4790K beats both 2600 and 1600 hands tied behind back, no matter how many cars there is, because graphics uses 1 core and that will slow down those Ryzen models more than it's multiple cores will help.

There won't be much difference in practice between 4790K and Ryzen 2600 with stock clocks and 1600 will be clearly slower.

There are even slower Ryzen models, 1600 and 2600 are already quite high tier models of the product range.

So worth to check those clocks, Ryzen name itself does not mean that CPU would do 60fps at Italy at high graphics, most CPUs will do fine at JRI though, but for the money less cores and more clock speed is what works better for most than more cores. With Ryzens stick with the X models.

Then again, compared to FX even 1600 would be almost twice the computing power, 2600 would be even better, to get that for same price as FX and there is no need to consider FX CPU it is so weak.

I know this thread was for @TheMultiTuber™, but I've been curious too. So I hope he doesn't mind if I ask as well.

So, would this be the kind of computer I'd also be looking for? I still haven't decided on what to get yet.

Should probably ask him if he knows how to build one first.

There's no reason to buy a 2600 if you want to do gaming, whoever does is a stupid [EDIT: removed this word]. I can say from experience that a 2600X will go to 4.15Ghz @1.35V and it's rated at up to 1.45V. You might be able to get more out of it if you manage to get a good example. There is no reason to buy a low clocked i5, i7 or Ryzen of any kind if you want to game on it. Why the hell would you do that. And also, on the topic, why would you spend so much extra on an i5 or i7 system when you can have a 2600X and an Asus B350/B450-Plus for less than 300 bucks combined. Honestly, the Ryzen 5 OC is the only current gaming chip I'd ever recommend to anyone. Maybe if you buy the R7 you'll get better silicon for that 4.4GHz but why bother with that either. It's enough for absolutely consistent 60fps in BeamNG.

Also, I have made good experiences with local shops building custom ordered PCs.

Well, overclocked fast clock speed Intel will get even higher single core performance, which is then needed to feed extra threads when running several cars, especially LUA heavy cars, but yeah, overclocked Ryzen gets really good performance for much lower costs than Intel and for most people even stock clock versions will keep game running solid 60fps.

I want your bananabench results for the graph, it would be useful for people looking for upgrading, would be cool if you can post a screenshot of your bananabench run. (needs to be run from directory, not from game)
