I've always wondered why beamng doesn't include controls in the interior, so you actually have to look around yourself in the drive camera to press buttons, turn knobs, etc.

It would be nice if a update in 2019 would include that
    Sorry for bad english :D

What’s the point of turning the AC on if you can’t even feel it?

it's a thing lol, wind for racing simulation.

just map the functions to A/C rather than speed :p

I'm not talking specificly about the AC, jus about turning the lights or radio (if you could put your own music in there) or the engine on/off

Might seem useless at first glance, but imagine having to turn the AC/heater on to remove the fog/steam from the window because of the humidity of your breath combined with the cold outside temperature. Since the air temperature is already simulated this shouldn´t be that hard to implement. However, this isn´t (and shouldn´t be) top priority. But that doesn´t stop you from dreaming :)

I haven't even thought about that. Good idea, but how I said I'm not talking about the climate controls.

It's just so funny, how everyone thinks of the AC when they see ''press buttons'':)

Its a fun idea but what would be the purpose of that, there wouldnt be one from what I have seen of it, it would light up something on the dashboard yes but apart from that I dont really see much of a point of it

I get your point, it would be fun to be able to press buttons just like in OMSI 2 for example. Adjusting mirrors, toggle interior lights, turning traction control on/off and things like that would really appeal the more simulator oriented players even more.

I personaly think this is more about doing it because it´s possible rather than it being useful. Even though BeamNGs main focus is car simulation, the sophisticated and advanced physics engine behind it is capable of so much more. It´s more about the loss of time it takes to implement it rather than other restrictions. Yes it is easier to press a button on your keyboard than it is to move the mouse to a button inside the vehicle, but the feeling is not much different from the people having a steering wheel connected to their PC because it is more realistic. For maximum realism you could build a whole car in your room with all the buttons connected to respective function, steering wheel etc, but that is not possible for most players. However, making the buttons in cockpit view klickable is a step in that direction.

Well AC compressor takes some power and with cars that have less power, you could feel AC compressor kicking in, it's like reverse VTakt.

There is indicator stalk and pedals that move, I guess knobs and things could be possible to make too, but as current vehicles are build around concept of no moving knobs or buttons, interior textures etc. would need to be remade, it might be quite lot of work actually.

Also having AC to rob power, that takes quite bit of work.

It would actually be ok if nothing moves. Even then I would feel like ''I am pressing a button in the car'' rather than''I'm pressing a button on my keybord and that sends it to the computer and calculates...''

Of course it would look strange if the handbrake doesn't move, but it does already move, soo... I think you get the point

Your AC compressor idea is also not bad:

Young dude and his friend are driving on the highway with a covet. Turns AC off... Engine: ''wwaaaaaaaa'' ''VTEC KICKED IN YO!''
