I saw one post from 4 years ago with the same idea, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in. I got multiplayer to work with my friend a few days ago! It works through Nvidia's GameShare stream, where the host puts out a stream, and the person watching can control the game with their keyboard. The host plays with a controller, and bam! Using the multiseat option, it works!
Christ sake, I still need to find someone to try this with. But a lot of people have already seen that thread, knowing how much MP is wanted. Either way, there's finally a tutorial for this Still gonna wait patiently for any official Multiplayer breakthroughs though.
maybe because they've made it quite clear they have no intention of implementing halfassed non-colliding multiplayer while simultaneously realizing the virtual impossibility of implementing it in any way that would ever meet their perfectionist standards in feature quality in the early access alpha video game
Dude, if you didnt know, we're not talking about facts or lies. You're not stating facts, your sharing your opinions or feelings and they're really neg and that doesnt contribute to anything. Try being contructive instead, otherwise you'll keep on having that mental state throughout. You're still here so that must mean something.
I suspected as much. there's no way someone could have done that much, and have only been on the forums for ~3 months.
in fact, it was a 100% factual statement, gathered through years of mining every single multiplayer thread and dev reply in such. >18, in high school, in extra-curricular activities, expecting anybody to believe you're some kind of pro coder NEXT!!!!
Well, there is no real multiplayer, there is way to do multiseat from across the world. Although its really just streaming the game and using your keyboard as a controller. I have done it before, you need really fast wifi for it to even be remotely playable.
If beamng ever gets MP, the whole entire game would have to be re-coded in ways. Its not going to happen unless a miracle happens
multiplayer is possible in torque3d. there was an attempt, at implementing it without collision, and it... worked? kind of. they gave up, cause it pretty much sucked.
But, recently I've seen 2 videos from multiplayer in RoR & they actually managed to have collisions without the vehicles exploding like a bomb
Yeah, they did. New update, but they did. I saw those videos too, and it's awesome, yet I guess there's like, 1 second of lag on each's screens.
non-colliding/ghost car multiplayer would be amazing! Think of all the racing you could do, and highway loop runs for days without having to worry about someone ruining your $100k car with their 50 hp base model covet on the freeway.
I tried a ghetto non-official version of ghost multiplayer and it was good fun, after vehicle rotation was added in you really had the impression that it was actual MP. Sadly the thing sits broken now.
