Just out of curiosity, have you played around with making any decals? It's arguably one of my favorite things to do after I've finished placing objects and terrain stuff.
Decals for roads or the map in general? I was thinking about it, but it slips my mind sometimes. I’ll mess with that today
I've done a lot today it seems. Though doesn't sound like that. Got sent a quick edit from a friend, @BlueGinge123. It's small but awesome, just waiting for one more thing to make the underfall (I guess it's called that now) look much better. Added a few SFXEmitters, yet all three are the same because I can barely hear anything from those files, and sounds like some don't even work. Either it's my pc or something with the game, guessing pc though. Changed out the parking in one of the watching areas for speedbumps painted tan. As @DuneWulff mentioned, I added in some decals for big ruts and potholes. Some are insanely severe, as this one got the bumper to spark. Here's the finish line. Anyone that has played any of the DiRT games realized the inspiration instantly...of course, unless it's real, idfk... Shot @krallopian a dm. I was curious if it was possible for a trigger to be set there, and once you're there, the light ontop/on the side of the gray box, showing a red light to stop. Probably going to work on the stump and dead trees, aswell as add a few more parking spots for the beginning. I'm still surprised this actually looks decent for my first map...so glad I have the will to atleast make a map XD
...I've done both not much and so much yet not updated this, I'm just going to post some screenshots and say what comes to mind. Been updating more on Dev Screens than here oof Messed with the spotlight lights a bit more, got them working. Edited the waterfall tunnel, completed the redone TurnBeforeTheFirstWaterCrossing unless I posted that before, and I totally redid the tight hill hairpins into something I find much better.
Lookin' good mate! The tunnel looks fantastic. Personally, I'd have made a moss decal and placed it on the underside, but the way you did looks good regardless.
Finally, the map has thumbnails. Did a few home cleaning along the way. Here's just two of the screenshots I took for them. hint: the Maluch isn't rallying because it's so smol.
Anything can be used as a rally car. Even a smart car. edit: yes it's a dakar build. edit 2: also this exists:
I'm contemplating on deleting the river. It's causing a ton of lag on my side. It gets as low as 15FPS when looking at it vs 38-41FPS when looking away. For me, it sometimes gets undrivable. My specs are in my signature. Also, this water issue is getting annoying. Just took a look, and seems like it's simply how the water works. I hope there is some way for this to change, because it looks so off in sun glare.
Could make it a dried up river bed. It shouldn't be lagging you though, there's certainly something broken. So strange.
I'm gonna go ahead and redo the water. If that still lags severely, I'll just go ahead and delete it. I don't know what else to do at that point...
...Right...I don't know why, but the water, after a redo, isn't being triggered anymore and killing the FPS in cold blood. Hopefully it stays like this...
Turn off full-reflect if you have it on. (its on by default) Rivers with full-reflect enable literally eat frames. Also turn down the overall reflectivity of the river too.
