Or maybe let's abandon elitism. Because thinking you know what people want better than they do themselves is elitist.
I don't know how unpopular is this, but here are my two cents on the educational system and approach. Schools should teach life-based skills, not general academia, and point students towards their future careers (as lucrative as possible) early on. Those who aren't going to be writers should be learning less about the struggles of romantic poets and more about the struggles of finding a good mortgage, those who aren't going to be geologists should be learning less about types of rock and more about whether it is better to rent or own the house above them, etc. Education for the sake of education is BS in general. Better do something that satisfies you or brings you material gain.
I agree with you. I mean, we should learn a bit about everything, but it's true that we learn things that we'll never use outside of school
Nuclear power is, over the long run, safer and cleaner than any power generation technology we have today (even solar, when you consider how toxic solar panel manufacturing is!). The only reason we're afraid of it is because a bunch of pot-smoking hippie boomers decided they didn't like it.
That's not my reason for not trusting it. My reasons are Chernobyl and Fukushima. I'm positive other people also don't trust it for those same reasons. Pripyat is still abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, and I heard it won't be habitable again for 20,000 years. Some of the towns affected by the Fukushima disaster are also abandoned. So, nuclear power can be extremely dangerous. When nuclear power fails, the results are catastrophic and long lasting.
Still better than some troll threads tho. I agree. Governments should actually improve nuclear power technology and also help people to learn more about the benefits of nuclear power. That will be more realistic than stop these kinds of technology to exist (looking at you Germany). But honestly countries should diversify their power sources instead of focusing on one specific energy to prevent shortages of some resources and improve sustainability. OT: Google is far more worse than Apple or Microsoft. You can say anything against this, but there's more despicable things Google has done more than the other 2 companies.
Cheese is disgusting. Few exceptions, but cheese is disgusting. Cheeseburger is not an exception. Pizza and bacon cheese fries are.
It's actually my favorite, oh wait that's 2000.. Oh well Vista and 2000 are both my favorite.. XD --- Post updated --- No, dunkin donunts better than all..xd. anyways here is a list of things I hate. I've held that opinion for years now. The insane energy density of nuclear fuel is far too great to just ignore. Wind turbines kill massive amounts of birds too (solar plants can too, the intense focused rays incinerate any bird that gets too close), so there's that. No energy source is ever going to be free from its hazards.
