Then don't look at it and wait until it's finished...

Hard to say. Still got to do the JBeam, and I’m still wondering if I should modify the sunburst Jbeam or make a new one from scratch. I already started one from scratch but it’s soooo time consuming and complicated that I wonder if I’d ever get it finished..!

Modifying an existing JBeam isn’t simpel either though.

    Translation:
    Many Dutch people here ;)
I’m slowly starting to understand JBeam, but it just takes a lot of time to write and test the Jbeam..!

I would try to grasp the concept of jbeam before even attempting to start to make a car tbh. But it is possible to start with a car as a first mod.
I don't know what kind of suspension the focus has but I would use the suspension of an official car if it is close to the real one. And then just change the actual coordinates to change the geometry.
The shape of the body and parts does not matter much, that is relativily easy.
If you need help, you can always ask me stuff but I'm not going to jbeam things for others on request(apart from a few special occasions)

Getting that multi link "control blade" rear suspension working might be a bit daunting compared to the very simple front macpherson struts, as there are no vanilla cars that use similar setups in the back that you can reference to.

Everytime I modify the JBeam using BNeditor, it just breaks the car. Do you think this would work better if I do it by hand? (With Notepad++)

I was thinking about using the multilink suspension from the sunburst, as I feel that it works quite well with the Focus.

Both should be fine if the syntax is correct.
BNE has some problems with props though. But commenting them out works if you just want to see/edit it in BNE.

As for the suspension, doing research helps :)

I would prefer it if you attempted to create the correct suspension for the car instead of cutting corners so satisfy those who wish for a quick release.

There are many people who would be willing to give you a hand in making it properly.

But it's you mod so you can do as you wish :D

For a jbeam, the sunburst jbeam probably is the closest to what your making

Looks cool, never heard of a ford focus with a diesel engine, just hoping for a release (I'm not asking)

Well, I spent some time today to modify the JBeam of the body (to start with) with Notepad++ instead of BNEditor. Even though it is more time consuming, it doesn't break the car anymore! Of course it does some weird things like higher ride height and the front bumper is doing some weird jiggling, but I guess that can be solved by modifying/adjusting each JBeam file accordingly.

After some thinking and reading your comments, I decided to take some more time and do the suspension properly. Haven't got a steering wheel or anything so that should be interesting during testing! :)

Deformation is way better now with the modified JBeam, but both the skeleton and mesh need a lot of finetuning (gets spikey sometimes).

I also added a pic of the dash (someone asked for this if I recall correctly?), but remember, the car is stil in WIP and far from being finished.
