Back on topic, this is coming along really nicely. These new configs are looking great! I was wondering if there might be a config with only the right side having the sliding door, nearly all minivans of this era didn't have one on the left side to make sure kids didn't get out right into traffic.

 

now they (unfortunately) have them on both sides... which is probably why schools have drop off zones now to ensure kids are safe, and so large groups can get in efficiently, but that sounds great!

 

I noticed that, my mom had a 93 Ford Aerostar that had the one sliding door and a second HVAC unit on the left side instead of a door, then she got a 01 Chevy Venture,, the right sliding door on the Venture was also a automatic door that opened with a button on the key pad and in the ceiling console while the left door had to be opened the old fashioned way, so maybe have the doors open on separate keys or just the right side door opens.

 

How many configs are there?

Eh, probably not. I think the single-door design was more early-90s than late-90s.

Both doors are already toggled by separate keys (page up & page down). There also aren’t any defined parts that say whether the door is powered or not, so that’s up to a bit of interpretation. All the doors will open the same in-game, but I think canonically the lower trims would have manual doors, and the higher ones would be auto.

Quite a lot actually...

Most of them aren’t done yet, and I’m definitely forgetting some, but here’s a messy and unorganized list of planned configs:

• USDM DX, LX, and ZX variants that are similar to the ones in the old version, albeit with slightly different powertrain setups
• EU spec variants in several trim levels with slightly different cosmetic parts and different engine options
• GTz variant with some new parts and stuff
• Cargo variant with the new cargo panels, and possibly a matching skin
• Taxi variant
• Medical transport variant (not an ambulance)
• Various race and rally variants
• Mild and more-intense offroad variants
• Possibly a stock 4wd trim level
• Various levels of custom/tuner variants
• FWD drag van
• Some kind of itasha that uses the cat ears and stuff
• Possibly some kind of beater variant, inspired by my Odyssey
• A terrible ricer variant with neons and things
• Probably some other variants that just show off some of the available parts (there are a lot)

The new version will be a separate mod, as it’s supposed to be a “gen 2” model that covers the 1995-2001 model years. It’s really more like a very, very big update for the original, but since soooo much has been changed, I didn’t want to fully deprecate the old version. That being said, besides a small maintenance update for the old version that should be released soon (just fixing some small issues), I don’t think I’m really going to work on the old version much anymore, except if something small breaks after an update or something.

How's the skin uv going?

 

Well, there probably won’t be like a dedicated HX variant, but one of the European engine options is based heavily on the Pessima HX. We could maybe see about adding some aero parts in the future though.

It’s going really well! I’m away from my pc at the moment, so I unfortunately cannot provide a picture, but the right side, roof, hood, front bumper/grille, and most of the rear hatch are done! I’ve put in a lot of effort to make sure the panels are aligned as perfectly as possible, and it should really pay off in the quality of the skins! (^^)

 

Did the plans of a JDM variant ever go through, or are you just focusing on the USDM and EDM variants for now?
