0.15 Discussion Thread - READ #1 POST!

    I've had issues for a while, nothing major just a minor annoyance. Every time the cache is cleared (either through an update or me manually doing it) the game crashes on the first launch with error "BeamNG.drive 0.15.0.6 0x00000001". Relaunching the game after the crash work every time with no discernible side effects. I've sent in the error report with the launcher generator and I'll attach the files here as well.

    Not trying to derail, but I couldn't help but add input here.
    Chevrolet OBD1 vehicles had this feature, at-least in the sedans it did. Had a 91 Bonneville SE (FWD 3800 engine), and if you wanted to keep it in 3rd gear going up an incline, take foot off pedal and then put it back on with a little more force then you had, and hold foot steady, and it would stay in that gear until you were going to let up. My 2003 Kia Sedona did the same thing. My 03 Corolla does the same thing too. My 1992, 1994, and 2003 Mercury Sables / Ford Tauruses did that. It would just stay in that 3rd gear going up a hill as if you had left it in drive and wouldn't use 4th gear until you let up. A 40 year old mechanic who spent his life in a garage working as a mechanic on cars in the 80s and 90s and grew up working on them as a kid in the 60's~70's didn't even know this. I discovered this because KIA advertised it as a feature, if you go up a hill, and it goes from 5th to 4th and to 5th and back to 4th again, it would stay in 4th until you let up as to not shift like mad the whole way up (and hence not wear the clutches in the automatic transmission faster). I tried it with other vehicles - sure enough - it worked - even in vehicles from domestics in the late 80s early 90s. Also worked in a 98 Pontiac Trans-Sport minivan (includes Venture, Silhouette, too).
    My 1992 F-250 I had at work still seemed to hunt for gears going up hills so I always pushed the overdrive toggle (tow-haul mode) when I got to the mountains to save the trans going up, and the brakes going down. I believe the chevy trucks were the same way as the Fords, unless someone can vouch (we had a few of each, lots of Fords though, they seemed to hold up to construction work better, including vehicle crashes!).

    I totally get what you’re saying, although I’m talking about when you let off of the gas and it stays in a lower gear.

    Yeah, and that is to some extent an example of it. Electronically controlled transmissions started to show up in the early 80s, and most implemented some sort of gear holding function. Furthermore, even older hydraulic transmissions would usually hold gears using some sort of mechanical smoothing. Holding gears even after you let off the throttle is a feature built into most transmissions.

    I have no audio in game, I already changed my headset to windows default, and deleted the settings folder and still nothing. All it says is "FMOD" for hardware audio. My ID is 49333

    I've had this issue with the exporter. Is id beamng or automation causing the issue?

    Small issue, but occasionally upon recovering the vehicle, some lights will stick on.
    It only happens if the lights was on when you recovered the vehicle, but it will stay on after you recovered the vehicle, regardless of how many times you press the button. The only way I have found that you can get the stuck light to go back off is to activate it again. I.e. if your brake lights were stuck on you would hit the brakes again to unstick them.
    I hope you guys can fix this bug easily, since it seems rather minor. Thanks in advance!

    The EBRAKE and sometimes 'check engine' light in the 88 Pessima does it too, sometimes. If you're wrecked it and recovered it, it usually does it then.

    I don't know much and I'm pretty useless worthless, but for me it appears that there is a bug, instead of path variable name is put into path or something, idk?

    I put support zip in safety incase someone wants to have a peek, but essentially that path issue might be something to check for.

    Yes, starting game again made user path in C:\BeamNG.drive_userpath folder, as root of C:\ is kinda protected, especially in Windows 10 I believe, that might lead to issues.

    Why game is working with old installs to correct path, I have no idea, startup.ini is precisely same with empty path.

    Missing .exe files are usually doing of antimalware/antivirus. Only way to verify that is usually set path to exclusion list of such program.

    The second one is an issue with the mod and therefore not a bug in the game, it's caused by flexbodies in the lada conflicting with official ones from the grand marshal, as they share a jbeam

    I wonder if this corner is dirt by purpose, it kills cars though, when you come from the bridge at enthusiastic speed and kinda lean to that guardrail which is thoughtfully put there.

    @Diamondback just to say but the 8-speed diesel automatic for the etks is amazing.. it works perfectly :) good use of torque throughout the revs, and appropriate agression factor.. it's amazing!
    (probably not anything to do with 0.15, but just putting it out there, it's a good transmission :) )
