The original thread got taken down because I forgot to give proper credit Its about time beamng gets a public NASCAR mod out. I'm aware of 2 actual NASCAR mods that are in beamng, but they are private. I'm a big fan of stock cars from the 90's and early 2000's so I thought why not a chevy lumina? All credit goes to slightly mad studios for the model/textures! Q/A How fast will it go? Around 190 to at max 210. Will it blowover? So far, the chassis can blowover by itself if I throw it hard enough. I'm trying to make the jbeam as light as possible to allow this. It may not blowover once all the extra parts are added such as the body, engine, axels ect. Will the body break off? I divided the body into 4 different sections. The main body itself will tear but wont completely come off. The rest of the parts such as the bumper will be breakable. Will it support skinning? Of course! No one would enjoy driving a NASCAR with only one body theme. When will it be released? When its done lol
Looks nice. There is a Late Model Stock Car mod on this forum somewhere that's pretty good, but I suppose that isn't quite NASCAR. I can't wait to race some (no restrictor plate?) American power places it really shouldn't go. I'm sure NASCARs make great rally cars.
I would love for this mod to be completed. I'd rather have a pre-2007 Nascar vehicle than post-2007. I just hope there is both restrictor plate and non-restrictor plate configs. I wonder who will make the skins though.
i've made 500+ skins for the latemodel mod, i feel like i'll be doing some skinning for this once it's released
Late models only race on small oval tracks. From what I know people do race super late models at Bristol and reach speeds up to 115 miles per hour. NASCAR's do occasionally race at small tracks but mostly stick to tracks like Las Vegas, Charlette, Pocono ect. I live at max about 15 minutes away from Pocono actually and I get to see a lot of drivers showing off their cars at stores and such before they race. --- Post updated --- Restrictor plates may not be a configuration for this mod. Though it would at realism to the mod, I feel restrictor plates take the fun out of racing. Your objective is to go as fast as possible to pass other drivers. Also no need to worry about skins. I have lots of premade skins from the game and a few custom made ones as well.
If you don't mind me suggesting something, If you plan on recreating real NASCAR skins, would you consider separating the real skins from the fictional skins? Everyone has a different opinion when it comes to real vs. fictional, so some people might find to annoying that they would both be combined...
They will be combined. I don't understand how people would find that annoying. Ever seen the old CRD monster truck pack? It contains has both real skins and fan made skins.
All real skins are in the addon pack and some custom skins are put in the main mod and the addon pack. But ours are separated because it’s on the repo.
After lots of working with the jbeam, I'm comfortable with the chassis deformation. I also added the rear axel
Looks great so far man, if you need any testers, I'm sure tons of people would love to help! Hope this mod goes smoothly!
After getting NR2003, just imagine crashes but the damage isn't scripted. I can't wait for this mod now that I got the best NON-MEMBERSHIP Nascar game.
