Update Speculation thread

It seems like it but there are wooden inserts that give a more modern look, like in the Tesla Model 3.

 

There is a thread for suggestions for driving modes, so this is pretty much guaranteed.

I like how wood trim went from being an old school look to being considered modern.

 

yeah the difference is like contrast-y rich mahogany with a thick clearcoat in older cars vs light and elegant bamboo in the tesla i guess

I don't think that I've seen anyone make mention of this, but there are textures for the eSBR motor have been in the files since November.

 

I believe it has been mentioned before. Although not for the past month or two.

New update in the not too distant future

Curious as to what changes we will see, I'm hoping we get some surprises as well as some of the stuff teased in the dev screens

 

Aside from Italy updates, I'm not even sure what would be in this update.

Italy updates: It's a thing

eSBR: It drives and has a gauge cluster. There should have been enough time to give it the facelift.

Old map updates: Signs point to yes for at least some updates

Diesel D-Series: Getting it sooner or later

Traffic: Gamergull is a staff member now and his traffic mod is usable, so maybe we will see some early steps. Plus, it's been awhile since TDev's traffic logic tease.

World editor 2.0: I don't keep up with the news about it since I don't mess with that stuff. Not sure about it's status.

UI improvements: This won't be finished for awhile and I doubt they will introduce even a part of it for this update

Campaign/Scenario/Achievement rework: A while ago they said they want to make changes but no word since

D-Series tow truck, airport trolley, movable Italy yachts, Hopper Safari, matress, ETK engines, Wentward bendy bus, H-Series sliding door, 200BX V8 swap: All in development limbo with little official word on any of them

IIRC the map updates were confirmed for the "Update after next" sometime late last year, so the update in question is the upcoming one.

 

Diesel D-Series. am thinking it will be this update, the bluebuck Wont be redy this update ( Sadly ) But good things come to those who wait

imo the ESBR needs to have a more simplistic interior if it wants to be a modern electric car. Most modern electric cars (such as Teslas) have very minimalistic (and kinda bland) interiors. They also tend to try get rid of every possible button and replace it with a large touchscreen. If there is already a map shown in the dash area it would be fitting to replace the center map with (possibly a larger) screen that shows a menu containing all the modes, functions, ect that would normally be a button in regular cars. It would also be fitting to replace the bunch of AC vents in the car with one long vent that stretches from one side of the dash to the other, like some higher-end cars have adopted.

 

First, the eSBR is a spin-off of an existing model, not a standalone electric car. Even if there is to be a facelift that level of change may be impractical from an in-universe perspective. Second, let the record show that I super hate that aesthetic.

 

True, I guess if it is just a minor facelift changing the interior would be impractical. I guess how much the interior would change depends on how far they want to make this facelift go. Although it should still have something in the center ipad (my nickname for car touchscreens) other than a copy of the map already in the dash. Wouldn't hurt to have a menu there instead. As for you not liking that aesthetic, I also very much hate it. But for some reason thats what the automakers think looks cool and seeing as the original SBR4 is from 2015 the facelift would probably be from 2016-2018-19, which would make the interior design I suggested accurate to what cars are like now. Also the past few years car companies have been cranking out tons of new (new, not necessarily good) designs and models, so a slight makeover of the interior dash isn't that much of a stretch.

 

Well, what about the VW e-Golf? It's pretty much a normal Golf but with swapped out powertrain to an electric motor, while the rest of the car remains pretty much the same... which also would be the case with the eSBR

 

The thing is the current SBR is a 2013 model but the eSBR has tech for a 2020 or near future model year, plus an exterior facelift. It would make sense to see some interior changes just for the time difference; sadly the dev team has really been ignoring interiors on the whole (only interior options most vehicles have is a shift light, steering wheel, roll cage, and racing seat options, with some cars having a little more options)

 

Excited to see the eSBR, especially if it looks like it's almost done.
