Uh, no. They had all IFS. You're thinking of the "Hummer" not the Humvee. There's a huge difference. They share literally no components whatsoever.
There is a civilian variant of the Humvee called the H1. It is literally the exact same thing as the military variant except for added interior comfort and windows above the taillights.
The H1/"Humvee" actually has independent suspension on all four corners. And as far as I know no variants have a solid front axle.
They snap steering components too, should come with warning sticker on dashboard "on road use only!".

Oh boy... where do I even begin with this one. First off, it will be released eventually... Sithhy is just about done with making models... there are only a few left to be made before we have everything. Then I need to put everything in game (at the moment I have made no progress due to real life, but if all goes to plan, what I a working on in real life should end up giving me much more real time to work on this) and then, once it is all in game, schumacher will take it and give it the final texture work it deserves. So eventually, yes... when... I dunno. I saw a question in there somewhere with how many configurations will it have? I'm gonna be honest... I have lost count by now. Sithhy, your gonna have to answer that question as I just don't know anymore. As for suspension systems, Real Hummers (or Hummer H1's after the H2 came along) have full independent suspension front and rear. Their drivetrain and suspension system is identical to the military Humvee's except their portaled hubs have helical gears (to cut down on noise) while military Humvee's have straight cut gears. The only functional difference was in the interior where the difference doesn't need explaining. The H2 and H3 however, just to clear up a little misconception, while using all GM parts, actually was not just a rebranded Tahoe. The Tahoe was built in Texas while the H2 was built on an assembly line that actually ran parallel to the Hummer H1 and Humvee assembly lines in Indiana. The front came from the Chevy Silverado HD, and while the rear did come from the Tahoe, the center (or 70% of the vehicle) is unique to the H2 as they needed to build it special to give it the extra ground clearance it required for off roading. The H3 on the other hand was the even smaller cousin was based mostly on the Colorado and Canyon chassis. This however wasn't good enough for Hummer though, so they ended up adding a lot of extra chassis pieces to massively stiffen the frame over normal trucks that used it. In fact they changed so much of the original frame, that it was actually kind of pointless to even start with the frame in the first place and not just start from scratch. Hilariously, unlike the H2, the front suspension is actually unique to the H3. It is further forward and wider than any other truck in its class at the time and used all unique parts (in terms of A arms anyways... the rest was pretty much standard GM). As fufsgfen said though... they were prone to snapping tie rods and busting steering racks because, since its GM and they have to do corner cutting somewhere, they just used standard steering systems for the vehicle class on both the H2 and H3's... but then proceeded to give each one MUCH more massive tires then any normal vehicle in that particular segment would ever normally have... plus with all that weight on top of it, it was only a matter of time before stuff would start to break, especially when used in the conditions these things were designed for. Finally, the last bit... Yes. There will be a configuration that will allow for the use of solid axles on the H1. It is a heavily modified truck that I remembered from my childhood when I used to be into modding 4x4Evo 2. This original mod was created by some guy named Turbo back in like... 2005 or 2007 time. And... I dunno... I have just always loved it... so we are bringing it into Beam with the Brutus. It will have no sway bars, massive long travel shocks, and flex that would put any Jeep to shame. Rock crawling, here we come
More than one, that's for sure We have been thinking about some config naming schemes, but so far they all have been a bit... too much to remember ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From other news, I have finally started working on the B1 again after a month of hiatus (kind of lost my enthusiasm & motivation, even for playing games) & I'm finishing up the solid axle suspension for the 'Offroad Beast' config (pictured in atv_123's post) (mind the pink parts, the textures are still broken in Blender for me)

@atv_123 so you have worked on h1 hummers irl right have you ever worked on deuce and a halfs/5 tons?
I "worked" for a guy whose business was exclusively in restoring old military equipment in my teenage years (as just an under the table highschool job). It was an interesting job... I worked on Humvees, Deuce's, Dozers, Jeeps... you name it we did it... I would say the coolest thing I ever got to work on was a Stryker, but I didn't get to do much to it as it was all mostly there... I mostly just changed the tires and repainted it... but still pretty neat.
Humvees and H1's are IFS all around, the only reason that the H2 and H3 are solid rear axle is because they were based on the Tahoe and Colorado respectively.
