When I got my corsa, I did not like it, I hoped it would grow on me but here I am a year later and I really want to get rid of it now. Curse lack of money... If I sold it, all I could replace it with is equally crap \o/ Bargain hunting across autotrader now :/

My incredibly clean '99 Camry, with a new (to me lol) refurb'd 2.3L I4 and a decent aftermarket sound system. The only problems: the sound system doesn't have an amplifier, so the audio breaks up much lower on the volume dial than I want it to, and it is too small to even THINK about fitting my drums in it. But that's what my dad's second car, a '97 Jeep Cherokee, is for.

Why did you buy a car that you don't like?

Stepdads involvement and expectation that it would grow on me.

When the thing is in full working order it isn't too bad. It handles and drives ok considering its just a cheap 3 door hatch with a 1 litre engine.

But mine appears to have gremlins living within it and Opel have taken some really crap design decisions with the car in general. Its a ticking time bomb for something more serious happening and I am not owning that car when it happens.

The other thing is that my old car was a 5 door as are all the cars I am looking at now. To be fair, most of the time its just me in the car driving to uni or making a quick errand, but I am part of a big family and do quite alot of driving them around or friends etc. Because I do often take my youngest 2 sisters in the car I have a large child seat mounted in the back of my car which takes up a fair bit of space on the back bench, fitting more than 3 people into my car comfortably is a near impossibility (the boot is not large enough for the child seat), plus theres the whole faffing around tipping seats back and forth to get in and out etc.
I get by with only 3 doors, but I would really quite like a car with 5 doors and slightly wider rear seating where 2 people can fit in the back with the child seat present slightly more comfortably than in my car (which has a rather narrow rear bench, you could barely fit 3 kids in there let alone 3 adults which is a situation I have hit before). Hell, maybe even with a larger car I might be able to fit the child seat in the boot. And this really does remind me that I need to get a new child seat and new booster seat as my stepdad and I only have 1 booster between both of our cars and whenever we need it we find its in the wrong car and my youngest sister is beginning to outgrow the child seat I have, more £££.
I would like just a little more space.

(oh btw, UK we count the boot/trunk as a door if you were wondering how a small hatch is 3 doors)

If I were you I'd try to sell the Corsa (though I doubt it that it's worth a lot) and look for some other car that isn't an Opel.

IDK your budget, but I'm sure you can find some nice Japanese sedans for a few bucks.

Hell, I did a quick search and I found a decent Hyundai (not Japanese :p) Elantra for less than €1,350.

    Dad's 1995 Ford f-150
    Mom's 2009 Mazda cx-9
    Dad's 2001 Toyota highlander
    Mom's 1968 Ford Mustang
    Grandfather's (now grandmother's) 2008 Lexus RX
    Grandmother's 2009 Lexus ES
    I think that's it.

Drove my dad's 2011 Toyota Camry a couple weeks ago, man it's got a touchy throttle. A good 1/8th inch of nothingness and then POWER! Where as my moms 2008 Ford Expedition is all smooth and not touchy.

Not so sure about my Corolla though, it's kinda missing a front end at the moment.
