Ok, I know a lot of people are going to be mad so here are a few disclaimers

-I have nothing against the modders that use automation
-I have nothing against the devs of either game
-I am fully aware of it being in a heavy W.I.P state
-This forum is only to say what you think about it

Also if someone says something you find unkind as a joke, don't be one of those "internet bullying police" types of people and cause a whole off-topic fight in the comments

I really like the Idea, and I think it's primarily a great way to expand upon automation, though it does help with BeamNG. the way the JBeam files are set up is also quite helpful for learning how they work.
What I don't like, is a small group of people who post pictures of their unmodded* automation cars in the development screenshots thread, or similar places, where they seem to think that because they can hit an "export" button, they are immediately as knowledgeable as modders like stoat muldoon, or ninetynine, and sometimes get angry when someone tries to give them advice.
*in this context, "unmodded" refers to vehicles which have not had manual code edits outside of Automation or BeamNG.
that being said, I have nothing wrong with people who post pictures of cars that they are adding interiors, or adding customisation/deformation, etc. to. I think that's also a really cool way for people to learn how to learn how to JBeam/model/do materials/etc.
also, Automation devs, When do Interiors? /s

I have no opinion on it. I have zero interest in using it or using any cars it creates but I'm not going to fault people for using it.

I don't really know what is automation crossover.

I can only guess it is way to say automation exported vehicles in BeamNG.

There seems to be huge amount of people enjoying from two products they own.

There seem to be more and more people wanting to learn more.

What I know is that learning and enjoying are both good for a person. Don't really have more to say about it.

It’s great for doing what it says on the box: driving automation cars. As long as you view it in that context, it’s great.

I don't own automation but I think it was a good addition to more serious rookie modders. For people that may be lacking in technical knowledge but know how automation works they can create their vehicles and import them into beam.ng to get the basic Jbeam set and they can improve it.
While many people complain about ""MY MOD THAT TOOK ME 2 FING DAYS TO IMPROVE IS NOT #1 ON THE (newest resources or whatever bs people cry about)"" I don't seem to find the issue since I personally never look there. I understand the morale disappointment but I don't see any other reason why it's such a massive problem.

my 2c is its sweet, As said, as long as you know its a driving shell, ( THAT YOU MADE ) ( with the games assets )
it brings more sales to BOTH games who are small-ish to begin with. beam is known well enough . Automation However was not.

What's not to like, You make you're own cars with no skill. Sure they are not as good at all to crash. if you really want that. Download a Hand Crafted mod/enjoy the Beam cars.

or better yet if you know how make you're own,

i can not do this. so i enjoy this,

And if you do not like it,, that's ok. ( it really )

you dont have to use it :)

Automation/BeamNG crossover is really awesome, i really enjoy making a vehicle i like with many engines variety, making a really light 500kg race car with a tiny 4 cylinder, making a 2500kg behemoth with a 10L V8 that do 3200HP (¿) make the crossover very funny. The interest of Automation/BeamNG is that you make YOUR vehicle with exactly the specs you want :)

I'm way on the early end of the learning curve and have a ways to go before I catch up to most people here. What is an "Automation" car, and how is it any different than a "Repository" car?

I see them both in the repository download page in the game... but I'll be darned if I can tell the difference. They all just look like cars to me. Can you drive them? Or are they designed to be downloaded to use as AI cars that have fewer polygons, so they don't kill frame rates?

That's how we used to do it in Flight Simulator 2004 and FSX. There were AI planes that had no working parts or cockpits, but they were great for AI view at a distance. I'm wondering, is this the same thing as that?

EDIT: Well okay, I think I answered my own question. They appear to be vehicles that people imported from other rendering sources (like maybe Google Sketch up or the like, I'm guessing)? I downloaded a red VW bug that has no insides, but doesn't look bad or drive bad from the outside. It ups the number of choices I have, so that's cool. Learned something new today.

'Automation' cars are vehicles that users create themselves on a game called 'Automation' and are then ported into BeamNG with an in-game exporter.

Automation cars have both their pros and cons:

    Pros:
Anyone can make them. Requires no coding etc.
You can model and tune your car to be exactly how you want it with ease.
You can bring your dream car into BeamNG.
You can share your creation with the rest of the community :D
    The sky's the limit!

    Cons:
Poor deformation due to simplified 'jbeam' structure.
    No interiors
Considered to be low quality or 'lazy' mods by some.

On the other hand, 'Repository' cars are vehicles that are custom made by users. They create their own 3D models, jbeams and textures. It is incredibly difficult and takes 100s of hours to do properly, however the hard work pays off. The end result is a high quality vehicle, sometimes to a similar or equal standard as the vehicles created by the developers.

    Hope this helps :)

Yes! You explained it excellently. Thank you.

And when the op titled it “automation crossover”— I was thinking a crossover (like a Nissan Rogue) “crossover” made in Automation.
I guess he meant crossover in the generic sense of crossing over from one game to the other. And *NOT* a crossover in the sense of 1/2 SUV — 1/2 car!
Boy, I guess I’m really easily confused!

Overall I like it, great map, ability to bring cars from automation, my only complaint is how early it was done, having a massive crossover between games and not being anywhere close to a finished product.

I'm sure you wanted to write 'days' instead of 'hours' ...
Anyways, the crossover is not a bad thing. It gives Automation players ability to drive their creations and BeamNG players with no modding skill can now create their dream cars themselves, instead of begging modders to make them.

I think it was overall good. I don't really use it anymore though. It seems no matter how much time you put into an Automation car, it always handles terribly, both in Beam and in Automation. I got bored of it and can't be bothered with suspension/tyre setups anymore. Got pretty bored of the body/fixings editor too, takes way too much work just to make a semi-decent looking car. Most of the fixings and bodies don't fit with each other. I only really enjoy the engine portion of that game now.
