I think I should start a thread about this as I am sure that it will interest other people as well and i could not find any information on the forums anywhere. With a separate thread it is more likely that more people will be able to see it and hopefully contribute to it. Addition: Should I put it in Automation or Content Creation? The thread has been posted now: Making several configurations for an Automation car
Hey dude, I saw that this tutorial couldn't help you 100%. This tutorial is from the early access (pre-automation) days and therefore is outdated. It works with stock cars and some mods still, but may not work with automation. I can't guarantee that you will be able to config automation cars to your heart's content.
Yeah, I know that but I tried it anyway, and it did work the way I wanted: I could improve the already existing config that the export had given me with the help of your tutorial to the point where it had a nice description and stats and a picture and all that, so that it looked like when you select a normal BeamNG config. I didn't expect more as I knew that the tutorial wasn't made for Automation exports. I just couldn't find any documentation on the forums on how to make several trims that you exported show up under one car, like for example if I click on the T-500, an Automatic and a Manual version show up instead of them being shown as two seperate "cars". I hope you can understand what I mean as English isn't my mother language... And as I have seen several people ask how to do this but there has not been a satisfying answer/explanation yet, I have created that thread to ask for help. Hopefully someone will reply...
Wish i could help, but I have no understanding of automation. As for the understanding, it took a re-read to see what you meant, but I think I know what you were trying to say: You want to have an automatic and manual trim show up under the same car (for example a manual D15 and an automatic D15 are shown under the same car) instead of two different cars (a manual D15 and an automatic D15 being shown as two separate vehicles). In that case I don't know.
It would be simplest for him to export two trims separately, then take automatic transmission of second one and put it as a part to first one, then making configuration that uses automatic transmission part instead of manual manual transmission part.
Yes, I would like to do that but I don't know how. As I said in the thread for the problem (btw you are very welcome to write in there ) I'm a total noob at this...
Bump Y'know, isn't there some kind of ingame app that'll generate the car picture for you? I forgot what it was..
