I'd rather not have an internet connected car in the first place. Why do we actually need all this bull manure?
exactly, there's only so much technology a car needs, as the driver needs his eyes on the road.. the passenger probably has a phone anyway, easiest way is to use an aux port, or maybe bluetooth handsfree at the most.. don't really need a seperate system for the car
Found out it has forward collision warning, too. That I'm not so at odds with, except for the fact it thought I was going to hit a cyclist from around 300ft away. :/ Oh, it has blind spot monitoring as well. Now THAT is something I fully support. I love it.
I'm ok with safety features like blind spot and other systems that don't take control of the car except ABS and TCS. The kinds of features that need to be removed from cars are pre-collision braking, lane keep assist, and any feature with a panic chime/flashing lights meant to startle the driver. I personally prefer having no assists other than ABS and TCS, but sometimes I am glad that other cars have features to cancel out the stupidity of a lot of the drivers in my area.
Anybody remember this bizarre-looking concept car known as the Pronto Cruizer? It is basically the precursor to the PT Cruiser (which is foreshadowed even in the name). Additionally, the color of the Pronto Cruizer (Inca Gold) was also actually available on the PT Cruiser, although it was used only for a particular special edition called the PT Dream Cruiser (Series 1 example shown below).
Hey, why were there so few 4-door muscle cars? If I were alive in 1968-1971, I would special order a 4-door Oldsmobile Cutlass with the 442's suspension and hood and the W-30 option.
There's still very few of 4-door muscle cars today too, like the current gen Charger. I guess it's a business or market preference to have them be coupes rather than sedans.
I had legitimately no idea that Ford had any intentions of joining that market. Hopefully they don't make too many that look like this xD --- Post updated --- Here at Ford, we heard you liked wheel arches. So we put wheel arches... on yo wheel arches xD For those unfamiliar with European Lorries, that horizontal line above the wheel arch is where the cabin suspension system operates. So they have a wheel arch for the wheels, and then had to arch the arch for the suspension. --- Post updated --- Wait... They also put canards, on top of their canards Which I am sure does help the airflow over the vehicle, hence improving efficiency. However, they lead to a surface as aerodynamic as a brick wall... Without even a wind deflector wedge above the cab. And like, where do the lines in their design go to? The first image even looks like two images combined into one file, because the two sides of that suspension line share so little in common. The body shape doesn't even try to line up? Maybe it will look much nicer in person...
When it comes to engines, what is the definition of weedy? Its one of those words where I know what it implies, but not what its meaning is. Generally I have thought of it as being equivalent to 'weak' (which to anyone who has tried getting rid of weeds is an odd comparison).
I don't know, there's a stigma among 4-door muscle cars and it's saddening. I'd love to have a wood paneled Ford Country Squire wagon with a 390 and a 4-speed top loader transmission.
Would it be fair to say that 4 door sedans with over 400hp have taken the place of the 4 door muscle car? Most of them can be tuned extensively, and some have plenty of power left on the table out of the factory.
It’s more of a small/overstressed engine than anything else, which usually has the side effect of being weak. E.G. having a 1.5l 4cyl in a Pontiac LeMans.
I wouldn't mind if Nissan and Mitsubishi (also Renault) joined forces to make a GT86 competitor but with an inline 4 turbo. The Mitsubishi version should have styling cues inspired by the Colt Galant GTO.
i wouldnt mind if mitsubishi got their shit together, brought back the evo, and cancelled the eclipse cross
Well, renault already have one, kinda, loosely. They have a 50% stake in alpine at any rate, and the Alpine A110 uses a renault 1.8L turbo I4 along with a load of other bits of renault tech. --- Post updated ---
Can you be specific about how you determined that? I'm trying to learn this stuff. The long term fuel trims aren't as high as I'd think they'd be to cause such bad gas mileage. Bank 1 is running slightly richer than bank 2. Notice the inverse relationship between rpm and fuel trim. I got new catalytic converters because it's clear in the obd data that they are indeed inefficient. I've yet to install them though. Soon. We'll see if that's the issue. I'm also having some strange torque converter lockup behavior that I think could possibly be effecting gas mileage. Both exhaust manifolds are leaking as well, but not very bad I'm driving it on a 1600 mile trip in 2 weeks and I'm trying to get this gas mileage issue fixed. Also, I ordered a rear wheel bearing to replace the worn out, noisy one.
