Like: As you can see, they have always antennas receiving for something to improve: https://www.beamng.com/threads/is-it-possible-to-reduce-coltris-depth.58639/#post-948763 Quite sure they pick up pretty much everything useful, they are incredible good at that
I do not mind at all that the devteam is picking this mod apart and learning how it is put together, and maybe find ways to make it run better and the bus may have more beams, but this truck do have a bit more collision triangles
Oh right, its definitely worth having one where you have a central driving position no cabin at all, and a steering wheel and pedals to reduce the load from that cabin area lol, I am so after doing that if I could mod it
First world problems of having a supercomputer It's kinda like watching your multiple vehicle Crash Hard videos. I may not be able to do much myself, but my god, if I could, this is the first thing I'd do. I am just hoping you did...expect 4 pages of dead computers. Not everyone has amazing jobs. This mod is an amazing thing to even look at, and drive if I feel like it. I'm happy this was made.
Neghvar, in correct scale and mass, model sadly is free from free 3d models site, but some day I will have time to make my own, then, then I can make it fly, whole 680 meters or so of it But this truck is kinda same, incredible experiment, very much I appreciate mad scientist attitude that this truck has
Ahem Negh'Var actually yes I am a Trekkie! and I get fussy about that sorta stuff but still awesome, but still this mod is an awesome computer killer, right I am gonna need to talk to my friend in the MOD and see if I can get one of their own supercomputers or I may have to contact my friend at CERN to get access to some of that compute power there to run this at 60fps....
Since we are on the subject... and I am not at home to test it yet. How many nodes, beams, and collision triangles does this thing have? I would be curious as to how this scales to vehicles I am currently working on (as I have a tendency to go a little overkill with the details as well)
also thanks to whoever suggested turning on simplified collisions, if you dont wanna destroy other vehicles and just wanna drive around this more than doubles my framerate, got about 45 on italy now really helps to let you appreciate the mod
the framerate gets higher when the cab and engine cover are broken off/removed as they are the most complicated parts and they're always colliding together while driving
That's awesome! I love that it is that detailed! This is such an awesome mod! I can't wait to try and take it for a spin!
Yes, what made it lag for me when making it, was when I added collision triangles to all the parts of the exhaust holders/towers, and when they hit the back of the cab and the parts inside the holders.
So, I tried out this truck on the Grid Map while also looking at the performance of my PC in the Task Manager. The weird thing is that on the download site it says 'And remember one vehicle will only use one of your CPU Cores", yet for me, none of the cores were maxed out... All 4 were at ~50%, my GPU was at 24-27% & RAM usage was in the high 70's. I've enabled simplified physics, yet that only brought my fps up by 5-6 while other people here said it gave them their "normal" fps back Dunno if it's something with the mod, or just my PC having an anomaly: ^ with the game running ^ ^ after turning off the game ^ Supposedly my CPU should have good single-core performance, as it has only 4 cores & 4 threads, but seeing that it was evenly loaded on all cores makes me think quite a bit about what was happening
That's what I noticed too with the self collisions disabled. It would run at 50 frames on Italy but either at high speed (30 mph+) or turning it would get down to the 20 to 15 range. I think it might have something to do with the tires. I lowered the pressure and it gave a 2 fps improvement. I'll look into it more when I'm at my PC
for me the framerate is the same no matter what (not including environment stuff or crashing) with simple collisions, nothing about turning or driving quickly --- Post updated --- also sorry for double post but this mod inspired me to make a meme, here's my contribution to the mod
That can be because of slowness of monitoring tool, I have often observed very rapid spiking in CPU load that is kinda hard to catch by conventional means, also there can be other reasons, like memory speed or just software chocking out. Busy with other stuff, so didn't had much time to test out, but I did see one core working harder than others and also I did see quite lower overall CPU wattage. This config was bit harder to run, you can see how one core is working harder as others (temperature) and also how max / thread is at over 90%: I think I should reset values every now and then, but anyway I guess you get some idea. Also HWinfo is bit annoyingly making some of the loads to dissappear, only some threads are shown when having freely adjustable grouping. At Italy things are bit harder of course as I would guess those huge amounts of objects on map get spread over more than one core, Italy works more cores than most maps.
