Well, it should be relatively soon judging by how long it's been since the last update and a couple of developer comments suggesting it isn't too far off. Nothing points to any specific day though, so just gotta wait for some more info.
Even if the new UI isn't coming out next update, I really hope the wheel selection is improved for when the new UI comes out. I basically never change wheels anymore unless I'm trying to find the widest wheels or drag wheels. Its pretty annoying, because there are so many great wheels in the game and from mods.
the "cmon, devs" part is kinda impatient. They are just trying to make the update finalized, rather than releasing 5 hotfixes in the week following release. Which is gonna add some time delay. Its gonna be worth it in the end. You just gotta be patient.
https://www.beamng.com/threads/nvidia-geforce-hotfix-430-53-fixes-crashing.62040/#post-1017654 So im assuming the reason the update hasnt been released yet WAS infact because of the driver issue, mostly..?
TDev used the word "helpless" You know who else in helpless All of us in the great tidal wave of space time as alien space debris hurdles through the fabric of space time at our fragile ecosystem Which can be simulated with the gravity improvements shown off And with improved traffic AI, we can simulate, say a JATO powered Wentward bus flying at our sims BeamNG-ites. Therefore, traffic and bus shaped JATO meteors will be in an imminent update which none of us can prevent. Or maybe he just literally meant the team couldn't do much about a problem on Nvidia's end and I am not a replacement for carbohydration. OT: I have nothing to add, in the past 2 weeks everything to say about this update has been said. I'll just throw in some EV ramblings to make this look like it's on topic. So, with electric car conversions now an option, what else might we see? The other day I saw a 1980's(?) Ford sedan that was converted as an experiment in electric cars, and there is this Ford ranger *cough Gavril Roamer*. Sometimes it feels like someone has tried an EV conversion of everything, and you could probably find an example for at least on IRL counterpart for anything in the game. IMO this sorta experimental stuff is better left to modders, and the devs would probably agree with that. As for the other modern cars (800 Series, K-Series, Sunburst)... The 800 Series could see an economy focused electric system, and the K-Series could see a performance oriented hybrid. Not really any reason to, but I can't think of a reason not to either. As for the Sunburst, the low end versions are budget vehicles and the high end one's are older, (by the standards of the time) simpler sports cars, so I don't see that getting an official electric system. And then there's the Wentward. The conversation about alternate fuel busses has been has before, no reason to ramble about that now. I am excited to see how the eSBR will compare to the hillclimb SBR4 and hillclimb Sunburst. Apperently the eSBR's acceleration is way faster than either of them, wonder how it'll fare on a track.
RIP Italy's best road, but I'm personally most excited to see what kind of new car configs we get. (I collect customized cars; that's part of the reason I have 125 mods downloaded as of this post).
Electric scooters replacing all those noisy enduro bikes that teenagers seem to use inappropriately at city centers. Simulating this with BeamNG could lead to new EU legislation, which of course is thing EU does, make rules for everything. That means BeamNG will be part of driver training in EU, every driving school needs business license. That allows development of hydrogen electric hybrid buses and trucks for the game. It is all as clear as dream I saw last night, I was playing Mech sim and all the menus were in Japanese from some reason and last time I played mech sim was 20 years ago I think or whenever that old PC game of such came out There are all sorts of electric vehicles though, I doubt devs will make more, but there is a lot of electric vehicles today:
Ummm.... what? Just turned on my computer and opened steam and this is what I got... Probably a backend or engine stability update since nothing is documented and is off the usual schedule for major updates.
I wonder if that is a steam thing? Even smallest hotfix is around 300mb I think, so that does look bit small for such.
Maybe its downloading a Update for the drivers... MMM seems odd. Wont be the QA Batch.. To small for the update. I have it to,,, ( just went to try it ) MMMMMMMMMM odd,.
We pushed a quick update for the launcher, related to the Nvidia driver issue. In short it now shows a warning message if it's the case. Because how Steam works, a few MB change requires at least a GB of download v( ‘.’ )v
I guess you can say we did get an update after all. If we ever get a modern super car it would need a hybrid system, and EV's have suddenly gotten very popular with automakers for 2020 model year and up for normal cars. I'm not expecting any more, but not ruling it out either.
Also light personal transportation seems to live renaissance of electric vehicle, even quite small manufacturers are bringing up new EV options, so things are looking pretty nice for EV and of course it is making sense that BeamNG follows new developments in vehicle world. Rear wheel steering is another thing that some supercars seem to have now too, I did read that it is something they use in racing too now, together with brake and thrust vectoring. Modern vehicles are quite different than most what BeamNG has, modern Bolide would kinda make sense, but then it would add again more things to keep up to date etc. which takes easily enough time to make it more difficult to make happen.
I somewhat agree, but I think it can be done. It would have to be a slightly quirky supercar though, and not a "hypercar". If they did it under the Hirochi brand, they could reuse the same digital gauge cluster etc. However, I think it would have to be an aluminium tub, since my understanding is that carbon fibre is not something that can be simulated accurately yet, but I could be proven wrong on that, I haven't tried it. I think making a supercar would be technically fun to do though. So perhaps if they can't do carbon fibre properly, they are choosing not to do it at all. Until the physics engine can do it justice at least.
