So my CPU is just getting really hot for no apparent reason.
It's an AMD Athlon X4 860K. It's constantly at 100 degrees celsius (DOING LITERALLY NOTHING ON THE COMPUTER) if not hotter.
I've replaced thermal paste, cleared dust, moved cables to increase air flow but nothing has stopped it from getting so hot. The performance is terrible too (presumably from the overheating).

Check CPU voltages and if they're high (check online what's the normal voltage for the cpu) reset the bios or bring them back to normal values.

I recommend you go into your BIOS and set everything CPU wise back to default or just in general reset the bios
The x4 860k runs at 1.36 - 1.38 volts stock, if you donĀ“t overclock it you can reduce it to 1.3 or even 1.25v safely without issues.
