Update Speculation thread

According to gabester the bluebuck already has a detachable frame so hopefully that means it’s decently along in production.

 

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if 0.17 (the summer update), features the Bluebuck, map upgrades, and the rest of the vehicle redesigns.

 

I've updated the game to 0.16 already when the update was released and tested it, all the new things were there. Now it's downloading again 1.7 GB of data without any news on the devblog. What is it downloading?

 

It's a fix for the blackscreen issue that some people were having... But why is it 1.7GB? That's a Steam mystery, that not even the devs can solve

 

I thought they said that a patch has to be a certain size to be released on steam.

 

I have a feeling that this update was pushed back, as the devblog text opens with "With the long weeks of winter coming to an end we’re ready to release our update to bring BeamNG.drive to version 0.16."

Winter ended nearly a month and a half ago, this wasn't written super recently.

 

I’d say “winter” is a vague term. We got hit with 5 inches of incredibly heavy snow mid-April (just like last year), so you could call the end of April the end of winter.

 

It's may, it did snow, temperature is below freezing, winter is not over yet, but surely northern hemisphere is having longer days and dark hours are greatly reduced so despite the snow it could be called end of winter.

However for southern hemisphere, darkness is gripping tighter and winter is just beginning.

Obviously as company resides in Germany, definition of winter is what their headquarters will have and they do get lot more summer than Siberia.

 

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Not to mention that it's been almost three months since gabester's post confirming that the Bluebuck had just been put into game, and he did say it was being worked on by multiple people, so who knows how much progress has been made to it since then.

 

It may just be a metaphorical expression you know, winter could mean a time of hardships possibly referring to the wait for the Nvidia issue to be resolved

 

We're Beamng, not Game of Thrones. Winter probably means what it normally does.

Guys when do you think we will get Carrer Mode, in 0.15 devblog they said that it will come this year, we will probably get 2 or 3 more major updates this year, so it may come in 0.17, 0.18 or 0.19

 

This year we will probably get a late summer/early fall update and a December update. The December update might get a light career mode, it looks like TDev is aiming for that.

Speaking of career mode, I've been thinking about what cars the game really needs before 1.0/career mode. Since discussions like that usually turn this thread into the vehicle suggestion thread, I made a post in that thread about it. I was what y'all think the game needs.

 

I see that, but if they were to do that for me every single car, that would be a literal ton of work, months, if not per a year (maybe two), to get it to be quality, and on the same level of current dev cars. If they were to do it for a few, like the Barstow, Moonhawk, new Pessima,, that could be cool. But currently I think. They are focused on adding new cars to the game, before adding more stuff to currently existingg cars. I’m sure that things like that will come, we must just wait and see.

 

(not so much speculation, but I thought you guys may find it interesting that we may get a dedicated electric vehicle)

I'm not really a fan of modern vehicles myself, but I still feel it would be another great way to showcase BeamNG's capabilities.

But yea, each to their own.

 

Am i the only one who hates driving normally the eSBR 800?
Cause when i push a little bit the pedal, it just jumps to 10kmph
I really think this eSBR really needs driving modes.
