Its kind of a weird thing to think about for a game made to crash stuff.. But what if crash avoidance was an option? I feel like it would be a pretty neat add on.

    Then you're already thinking wrong.

    Just try to drive better

Certainly something a lot of peoplr have asked for in one way or another!

I think a big issue is how the ai currently works. To properly implement the systems you would simply have to add a checker of sorts that says, "if car in range calculate correct speed to set" and you brake. But to implement that so that it also works with ai would be very expensive code wise. So they'd want to revamp how it works first so that it all works efficiently as one thing together imo.

Point is, you can bet your ass it'll show up in the game, but there are a few steps yet to be taken first.

Freaking Tesla still has bugs, the devs are gonna need to hit the jackpot (literally) to get Elon Musk's help.

But this would be awesome. I can only wish.

Tesla is working with unknowns. The game knows where everything is at all times if it wants, much easier to write crash avoidance software for that!! =D

Or what if BeamNG simulating this kind of technology helped Tesla develop it further and brought benefits for both Beam and Tesla?

That would not work well for BeamNG. A crash avoidance system in Beam should act like one would in reality if anything.

Tesla are using much more advanced simulation software for testing.
    I doubt they'll be using a game :)

Sometimes it looks like they're using their customers for testing.
But actually, BeamNG has partnered with Audi to develop AI for autonomous cars.

It would be an interesting concept, but I wouldn’t say this game is “made to crash stuff.” It’s a physics engine. Made to drive cars. It just happens to have soft body physics, which has been clickbaited to shit by YouTube, and nowadays, people just try to take 17 buses into 44 cars at 500mph and that’s how they get views. In reality, at least from my view, this is a physics engine, to test cars, engines, and driving. I spend more time tuning, editing, and driving than I do crashing. I am not saying that the crashing isn’t a big part of this game, as it most definitely is. Cause it is revolutionary, no other game has a system like this. There is many reasons that this is the only game I have over 1000 hours in. I currently have 2489 hours. My next highest hours is 500 something in gmod.
