I don't know if this is possible, but... What if we make a car with modern day features, like different driving modes, lane keep assist, parking sensors etc. that would be really cool. It could also have a gauge cluster that's a functional screen for the driving modes, like in the Raven R60 mod. [I think that's what its called] And lane keep assist could use some AI stuff to keep you in your lane, because I think AI can be made to stay in lane, so. It's probably not possible, but I just want to put this idea out there and see what you guys think of it!
I just want an ETK I-Series Audi procon-ten system. And they do have that relationship with Audi Imagine how great that would be to see working in slow motion with the body visibility turned off
Hmm, that could be quite a task. For example some trucks have transmission that is shifting based on gps data, cruise control allows more speed drop at crest of the hill in places where downhill acceleration can be used more. Then there is lane warning system with blind spot warning system, seat vibration, steering auto correction, car can even slow down predicting a potential crash. Predicting ABS, using fuzzy logic they predict what amount of braking can be in near future. Adaptive cruise control with radar, also some level of automatic staying on lane features, automatic parking. Of course parking sensors and camera would be needed. Low and high beam are switched automatically as well as windshield wiper operate automatically. Cornering lights, where fog light of side you are turning lits, also when you turn on blinker, that side headlight dims or turns off. There probably is lot features that I have no idea of, but even many of those are pretty hard to make happen.
Just thinking about it for me it would be quite the challenge to build it let alone what should we use for the design of it
I mean like, ya know, lane keep assist, parking sensors, stuff like that. Working infotainment... --- Post updated --- In many Lexus models, when you turn the steering wheel with the headlights on, the headlights move Always puzzled me as a kid, my parents always had Lexus’s
Citroën DS had adaptive(turning with steering wheel) headlights back in the 70's I think everything mentioned above IS possible because the more and the better one program's makes anything possible. I'm not really a fan but I have nothing against it as well. I DO think that the best way to achieve such features are summing them all in one list, start filtering common properties and write ONE common module that handles all. Sensors, lane assist etc ? I guess indeed better start to work on a radar system (or something) combined with AI..
It would use every key on the keyboard to control and would freak out if you drifts. OH WAIT YOU CANNOT EVEN DRIFT WITH THE ELECTRIC LSD AND ESC. Overall a good idea, not much driving fun you want in BeamNG though
You'd end up with an electric car that only has a steering wheel for emergencies if the advanced self-driving system fails...basically the bane of existence to anyone who loves cars and driving them.
I'd like to see an auto stop thingy on the ETKs that detects a collision and automatically brakes. of course with an option to disable it for crashing fun
something like the ESC, which has a UI button to turn off, along with a keybind, and can be removed completely in the part selector. but of course, unlike the esc, this will be disabled by default, so that new players don't get confused or frustrated by not being able to crash properly.
