Hi again! So basically, everytime I select a new vehicle, my FPS drops down to the 20s. Using MSI AfterBurner I found out that after selecting a vehicle, the graphics card just gives up. It stays at 40% usage, unless I slow down time, then it goes at 99% usage. I just don't know anymore, it's probably the graphics card itself. Also extremely overclocking/underclocking it doesn't change the FPS AT ALL! Can somebody help?

That screams like CPU bottleneck actually

It does, but there is also another odd thing that is quite elusive, sometimes if BeamNG is on background it can lock to some fps, usually I have seen half refreshrate, it happens only with vsync on and fps tends to get restored when pressing print screen, but in his case it might be CPU having hard time from some reason.

Challenge here is that his fps drops after changing vehicles, definitely more information is needed about which vehicles and what cpu etc. Those two possibilities are ones I'm thinking right now though.

We would really be able to know more if we knew your hardware

My CPU is an FX-8320, my GPU is a Radeon R7 240 with 2GBs of GDDR3 ram, I have a 7.2k rpm 1tb hdd, along with 2x4 GBs of DDR3 ram, my motherboard is ASRock 990 Pro3.0
The CPU usage stays at around 40-75% most of the time, even after changing vehicles (by that I mean removing the default vehicle and spawning a new one), but after changing the vehicles the GPU just locks at 30-40% and only slowing down the speed makes the GPU go back to 99% and the FPS skyrockets. I also have similar cases of the GPU locking to 40% for no reason at all in other games as well. Like Fortnite for example (cringe, I know.), where changing settings don't even make a difference.
Back to BeamNG, I provide screenshots, because I'm bad at explaining.

I'm not sure if it's the CPU or the GPU that's causing this problem, but either way, the game is unplayable at this framerate.

Would need to know bit more about your hardware, GPU model and CPU at least.

When you select to view logical processors, how this task manager screen looks when you have slowdown?

Not sure if I was on the right page, so I also made AfterBurner display the CPU cores' usage. upload_2019-5-25_18-38-34.png
Not sure what the manufacturer of my GPU is, but it's an AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB GDDR3 OC edition, and It's overclocked at 1000 MHz. My CPU is an AMD FX-8320 Black Edition (8c/8t) and it's running at 3.50 GHz. The RAM is 2x4 GB of DDR3, the power supply is a cooler master RS-600-ACAB-M.2, the motherboard is ASRock 990 Pro3.0 and the Hard Disk is a Seagate 1000GB Desktop HDD.

That is good, looks like you are running out of single core CPU power, not sure why that would happen after switching vehicle though if before switching vehicle it is ok.

If you press ~ key, do you see lot of text appearing in console that opens when pressing that key?

Some vehicles are of course really heavy for CPU, like 8x8 truck by crash hard, but if it happens with any vehicle and even without mods when launched in safe mode, then that would be something quite odd.

That map location can be bit heavier for CPU than gridmap for example, but switching vehicle should not cause fps to drop huge amount.

Take screenshot of it, if it is running like really fast. If text just stays there that is not a problem though, but something else is then reason for high CPU load.

If you enable advanced features from game options, then you can open performance tool from here:
    upload_2019-5-25_19-32-25.png

Hover mouse over top graph and take screenshot like this (just press print screen button on keyboard and then paste image to box you type reply in by ctrl+v):
    upload_2019-5-25_19-33-18.png

It can show some more information of what part of the game is reason for heavy CPU usage.

upload_2019-5-25_19-41-45.png Also, I noticed that the game stays at high fps when I'm not driving the car, but the second I start driving it, the FPS goes back to 15.

Hmm, you have old version of game, you need to update to 0.16 I think and also when you are having a slowdown take screenshot of that graph during the slowdown.

Looks like one of your messages was caught in spam filter or something as it appeared only today.

It is pretty odd how fps gets low after switching vehicle, something bugs out there for sure, but things might be different in new version of the game.
