Ok so I'm working on a chevy lumina stock car myself and I decided to see if there were any other stock car mods out there other than the late model. I'm aware of 2 nascar mods that are private but that's it. So I found this stock car mod on a unofficial website (I wouldn't recommend downloading things from) But I did anyway. Heres what spawned So its quite obvious the model is stolen from another game and wasn't made by them. It was also fairly low poly in some areas and the gas pedals and dials didn't work. It used the moonhawk jbeam which in some areas (mainly the front) didn't line up at all. Not to mention the file itself was packaged wrong so I had to fix that. Also the crashing on it was pretty bad (especially in head on collisions) That basically sums up all mods from unofficial sites. Safe to say a 10 year old can make this. In total they just grabbed the mesh, divided it into different pieces and slapped it onto the moonhawk jbeam. I'd stay away from these.
Now you know why the community on the forums does not recommend visiting third-party websites to get mods for BeamNG, especially since the majority of the mods on said sites are low-quality (referred to as Russian mods, clickbait mods, mesh-slaps, and so on). That Grand Prix Hotring mod you mentioned is made by 58_Gram, infamous for making many low-quality mods. On the other hand, the forums and the repository are your friends when it comes to downloading mods. Stick with those places if you want quality mods for BeamNG. Otherwise though, good luck on your Chevrolet Lumina stock car mod.
Yeah, good luck with your car! That's a nice idea. "Russian mods" are just to add cars that people want in game without actually spending quality time making it. Be extremely careful, as one of these mods can break your game, other cars, or cause extra lag. I'd delete that mod if I were you even if you don't see anything wrong.
Already gone. It was absolutely terrible anyway. I will admit when it came to roll overs it was pretty realistic but outside of that it was just bad. The suspension used on the car made it near impossible to drive on a oval track and the torque on it was so insane to the point where it was insanely hard to leave first gear.
There was once a time where I had an Audi A8, X5, 740i, etc... but it was all just for looks. I haven't downloaded anything from the Russian sites in years and I'm clearly not missing anything. I can't stand the videos coming out of the top YouTuber's that are just a buncha crap mods with horrible driving and crash physics, but it's all for views. MILLIONS of people are exposed to the game and yet what they see is nothing at all representative of what the game is and can be! It's such a shame.
And then they claim/say that BeamNG is a "crash sim"... No sim like that would have such INDEPTH levels of simulation like BeamNG does. Just makes me unreasonably angry whenever I see someone say that
I remember back in 2016 I did a World of Mods mod downloading spree and just filled up my hard drive.
