-edit- PROGRAM BEING USED: https://parsecgaming.com/ MUST TURN ON MULTI-SEAT IN BEAMNG THE REMOTE PLAYER DOES NOT NEED TO HAVE OR OWN THE GAME BEING HOSTED - since it simulates them being at your house playing YOUR game. -original- I want to try a test with BeamNG and Parsec, Parsec is a game screen sharing software that was configured to allow for games that are local multiplayer to be played online multiplayer, the idea is it simulates local multiplayer but the screen is being streamed to another PC and the inputs are picked up by the host. I want to test how it works, ill host a game and see if anyone can connect, let me know if you want to try i'll post all the software and setup required, my Parsec name is Jcrew3002 Host computer name on Parsec will be BeamnNG-Test-1
Soon Ill post some instructions with a date and time, also Parsec just made it possible to lease a remote computer to host from, I dont know the specs of the leased computer but ive sen some at around 8 core CPU, 32GB, decent video card. They are usually a server PC --- Post updated --- Just ran a test and it worked!, My host computer detected all remote inputs and applied them seamlessly, the players where able to control there own cars! the drawback is the camera has to wide focus on all cars, currently 2 players staying near each other would work best, or a derby scenario I want to try that next, stay tuned! Heres the program https://parsecgaming.com/ I can host another game, tell me when and you can join to the game to remove skepticism. If you want I can post a video no problem, would take less then 20min to create, pick one.
Yes I can post a video, also i'm currently hosting live the info is in the pic below, look for the game in Parsec, although I won't be able to run until later, (heading to do some work) but will be back later, 4 players but I can add up to 6 I was skeptical at first too but it works
Oooh, I have tried this before with the nvidia game sharing thing. It works well, but if your wifi is slow, it lags like hell
Okay. Well. Uhh. Can you dm me how to set this up? I'm wanting to mess with this with a friend (i:e A person that I am more comfortable with in a voice call). Could you tell me how to set this up @ThreeDTech21? I'm going to mess with the initial stuff myself, if that's not risky.
I'd like to try this out! It seems very interesting that this has a potential to be a multiplayer game!
Ok this video can explain it better than i could, also there are some really good tutorials on youtube
I would want a multiplayer, but a lot of people have mods and that becomes a problem when multiplayer uses mods. --- Post updated --- Will you do another Parsec multiplayer session? I would want to be in it.
Tried this with my friend and it was really fun. It helps to have facetime or something but it could probably be done without. If you did have another session count me in.
Glad to see its being used, it actually works pretty well, ll post some sessions so others can join, maybe there should be a thread dedicated to Parsec sessions.
