Hi all. I'm not complaining about this game at all. Love it. I was wondering if we could see a list of what official vehicles are in development and a ROUGH estimate of when they'd be available? I'm holding out hope for a late 1950s American car (tailfins and all!) and maybe some more modern muscle cars and luxury SUVs/sedans. I think a mid-1960s American car was shown in development a long time ago, but haven't heard much of anything about it since. Thanks!
Gavril Bluebuck and Soliad Wendover are the only ones that have been confirmed. Bluebuck should come early next year (late this year if we are lucky) and the Wendover should be a couple of months after that. Nothing else is confirmed. Another electric car is "planned but not confirmed" so best case scenario that's a long way away; it might not come at all. There's been other official concepts talked about but again not confirmed, those have all either been put on hold or abandoned. The car you mentioned you saw was either the Bluebuck or the Bruckell Albatross (more of a late 60's early '70's). I linked the Bluebuck's wiki page above; the Albatross falls into the "concept which was either cancelled or put on hold" catagory.
The Blueback may also come in ~3 months (for v0.17) as it has been reported to already be in game. I'm presuming the developers are just applying the final touches, adding configs, parts etc. Although that is just my guess
Not many vehicles come in the update after the first teaser is released. Since we haven't seen it yet, I doubt it will come in the next update. The ETK I-Series and Piccolina were both in game for a long time before being released, and we had teasers of them long before their release.
No way! I thought they'd release unfinished vehicles! Seriously though, he's asking for a roadmap of what's being worked on, not a specific release date... I think it would be nice to see what the team has their sights set on for the year instead of the sneak peaks every 3 months or so. It would also cut down the speculation thread as people could easily reference the roadmap. Obviously the team could delay or accelerate things as workflow changes, but it would be a good overview for their goals and would manage expectations. I think the transparency would be beneficial for both sides.
A successor to "Something is still on the horizon" would be VERY appreciated. It would clear up the fog as to what is going on with the game.
At this point it feels like I've been begging for this. Things have changed since then and it feels like information to the community is just going update to update.
"Something is still on the horizon" really helped ease the tension between the developers and the community. Posts like those are infinitely better than the dev updates we currently get, which are simply screenshots that have already seen the forums. A lot has changed since "Something is still on the horizon", and likely lots more has changed internally. The communication between developers and the community seems to be a lot lower than a few years ago, hence the crazy speculation and flat out confusion as to what is happening to the game. I agree, it feels like we are always pushing towards the next update with no end in sight. Nothing has been said about career mode, all we know is that it will supposedly be out by the end of the year, and based on previous statements on the company regarding release dates, that claim is anything but ironclad. In fact, I personally believe that whole mess I started a few months ago caused by the lack of communication between the community and devs. Without a doubt, it's time for another major blogpost. I rarely if ever ping devs, but I think now is as good a time as any to ping the one dev who would be in charge of this. @tdev
