Incorrect. Correct. Back on topic: I've been attempting to replicate the autobello's rear torsion bar suspension. It's mostly there, but there's this awful resonance when the car oversteers. Essentially, the rear tyre digs into the road, which causes a high lateral force along the arm. The tyre then flings outwards and continues to oscillate in this fashion. I've tried upping the beam rigidity and adding more reinforcement to the torsion bar but this doesn't seem to help much. I'll upload the relevant jbeam files when I get back to my PC for anyone who wants to have a look.
idk if it is for anyone else, but the orbit camera is off center and is on left hand side and the interior camera should be the interior camera like on official vehicles. this one is just a normal one
I don't have much time to look but how is the angle between the wheel hub and the mounting nodes? If you have a really small angle, it forces will be greater and this will lead to the vibrating behaviour. Longer beams with bigger angles (30+ deg) work better than short beams. Like for the left wheel in this picture. If the hub is slightly inwards and the right node of the car in the center of the car, it will be stronger than having the hub nodes on the same x-axis as the most left car node with the right car node close to it. Angling your hub also works.
I made a version with a fixed camera, license plates, a horn, a tow hitch, a fixed interior cam and newer sounds. Can i publish it in this thread?
I would just PM it to the author, considering this is an active WIP. He can then get what he needs from your version to add to his WIP version.
Yes it turns out angling the arms and hub correctly helped a lot with reducing the wobble, I also tweaked a few other things and the wobble has mostly disappeared, although it rears its ugly head in some situations. Alex, could you send me the changes you made so that I can incorporate them into the next update? You will be credited for your additions. I've updated the mod to 0.2, below you can find the changes. As always, the download is in the OP. Changes in 0.2: Redone rear torsion bar suspension: The torsion bar suspension was previously hacked together just to remain stable. It's now based on the Autobello's torsion bar suspension jbeam. Improved front suspension geometry slightly and improved stability. Suspension wobble has been significantly decreased. Fixed external camera position so that it's now above the centre of the car. Handbrake now applies to rear wheels instead of front.
This mod is a really good start but I have some things: The FFB is really loose, like there is some sort of powersteering. The windows are not completely clear there is some sort of white tint on it. There are other issues but they are already mentioned. Keep up the good work Edit: The car handeling is very good, already completed a few rally's. The clutch takes to much to overhead I tested it on my G920
Thanks for the feedback, Ted. I'll try my best to get the ffb and clutch working properly but as I don't have a wheel or pedals, its impossible for me to judge the accuracy. Also I'm not entirely sure how to tweak the ffb. Is it just a matter of tweaking WheelReinfBeamSpring as explained in the wiki?
mayby but, the engine mounts are a bit weak as seen in the video --- Post updated --- I dont have this, mayby shift logic or something?
In the steering Jbeam there should be a FFBcoef setting, which you can turn up. It also depends pretty heavily on your steering geometry too though, so cranking up the FFB might not make a difference if your steering rack geometry is weird. I can imagine it's pretty hard to tune without a wheel. I can mess around with it with my wheel and see if I can improve anything if you want.

Needed room for family, now with 2.9 meter wheelbase instead of 2.42m of IRL car Front suspension is bit stiff, there is not much front end grip perhaps because of that. Not sure if there is some nodes hitting coltris or if springs are just set so stiff, but that was what I noticed with very quick test.
Cheers, I'll look into that for the next update. On the off chance, do you know how to get the driver cam working? There's no mention of it in the wiki and I couldn't determine how the official vehicles managed to do it. It looks like you need a driver node, but I can't find where in the jbeam files it's defined which has left me confused.
