This looks well done, but why is the mesh of the hood see through?

Mesh visibility, he used it to see the jbeam a bit better.
Its hard to see without it on.

The same reason a huge chunk of the mesh is missing: All visuals ingame are placeholder while I finish off the model.

Will it shift realistically like the Allison 2000 does in real life?

    Re-reshaping the front

Also routing exhaust, and making way for the transmission

I'm getting this feeling that the minute you finally get this thing up on the workshop, beam is going to ship an update and break it.

The CAT C7 and Allison 2000 are now nearly completed. Here's another update on that.
Outstanding texture work as always from @VeyronEB :)

Well it started, looked like absolute crap, was modeled in ancient technology, and I had zero knowledge of jbeam back then.

Restarted last year and now I'm more skilled in jbeam and modeling, so now it won't be a crap mod :p

Got some fancy cluster textures from @VeyronEB. Will look better ingame as Blenders internal renderer doesnt do a great job at normals

Wasn't that implemented so that in hard front collisions the frame can actually just slide backwards and the body will not. Kinda like a shock/collision absorber right?
