Then again, it wasn't even meant to be sold in North America to begin with. We got the Si instead, which is basically the closest we got to a Type R in the US, atleast for the 7th gen.

 

But it was seriously less hardcore than the R was.

 

Well, the Si wasn't meant to be hardcore for quite a while, until recently. It was the 'sport trim for North Americans', but that doesn't mean it was supposed to be hot hatch-material.

 

Past the original Si.... it wasn’t all that great.

About a month ago, I was in Sacramento and I saw this Buick that looked a lot like a Vauxhall.

 

Morris monior traveler

 

From the looks of it, that Buick is a 2014-2017 Regal GS.

Also I saw:

• (very likely) BMW X7
• Some sort of Triumph
• Willys and a 30s (Ford?), both customized
• Modified Toyota GT86

Saw a Honda Passport yesterday, and another car I forgot from a few days ago to mention is the last gen Mercury Cougar.

 

I saw a Lotus Exige today. Those things look amazing.

 

Went to see the start of the Vistula Rally (modern & historic) in my town. Saw:

Rally cars:

- a multitude of modern hatchbacks: Fiestas, i20s, Fabias, C3s, DS3s...

- older rally cars: Lancer Evo VIII/X, older Imprezas, 5th/6th gen Civics, E36 compact, E30s, 1-Series, Clios, Cinquecentos...

- Nissan 350Z,

- a few Ladas, plus a Fiat 125p,

- Fiats: 131 and Ritmo Abarth,

- two Quattros,

- classic 911,

- 1st gen Legacy,

- Citroen AX,

- Alfa Romeo 1750 (announced as "Lancia Fulvia"),

- Saab 96 V4,

- Syrena 104,

- Triumph TR7 (awesome sound!).

Also some cool cars in the paddock: a carbon widebody Mk4 Supra, a C7 Corvette convertible, a Ford Focus RS, a Kia Stinger GTLine and a few new DSes and Volvos. Plus a restored Fiat 125p on the way there.
