Yeah, better to not think about it. I compare it to the restoration of a car (something i did in the past). We invest a lot of hours that we'll never see back even in selling the car, and then it has fuel consumption, maintainance, and it's something not easy to share. So creating such a mod is the occasion to make something as interesting as car restoration, that is interactive so that we can live car chase situations and stunts (not possible with the restored car) and we can share it to the maximum audience. So it's all good when we're passionate about automotive. I will quite happy when v2.0 will be released though
It would be great if you strenghten derby cars a bit, make bash bars a bit stronger and reinforce radiators please
Yeah, derby cars are something special. The few ones i did in the presets are just placeholders. I know some people are using the cars for derby and are willing to make them work the accurate way. When v2.0 will be released then it would be good to make some work with those previously mentionned enthousiasts to make the derby cars something good and fun. I won't do anything for the next update because i have too much things to handle and make sure it's just working good without bugs in the console. Just finished the LS variant, with all the chromes, interior additional trim and LS logo. Soon available at your favorite Collectible Cars dealer
The work that is put into this mod continues to impress me. Well done! And a big thank you for making the wheel pack. The new wheels looks awesome!
Chevrolet Impala first wheel turns. Still need some work on the taillights textures and missing the Impala badge, but easy peazy job And first crashes tests Carface80 work is so amazing on those cars, almost plug and play even for textures, just little modifications to the caprice textures and it fits without duplicates.
No cadillac planned for now. I would like very much to get them into it, but it's too much work modelling and texturing them to fit. Also eventually, i would like to take some rest from this mod (i told that already i know ) Now a quick look at the impala new textures i've just finished. I've added them to the caprice lights as there were still a bit of room on them. So a bit of composition using the existing texture, some dark halos with gaussian blur and we're good. Those taillights have thin chrome lines painted so i tried to add them even if the texture map is very small (512x512 px) The glowmap is very quickly made, not nice to see as it is but it's a question of the way it's used in the materials.cs, using opacity, glow power, and so on ... Here is the heightmap to have the chrome lines, dark blur to emulate smooth surface and separation between the reverse lights and its red surrounding. Then the height to normal is applyed. i use overlay in photoshop to mixup all the normals layers when i add new ones, then i use Xnormals's "normalize normal maps" function to smooth, equalize the normals before exporting, otherwise several overlay will alter the normal render too much. And result in game. I always enjoy when so small bits of textures can render very good once playing Of course, all the glowmaps must be properly defined in the main jbeam and the mesh materials affectations to have it work properly. Now i need to make the broken versions and adjust the flares. It's always a struggle to set them up, not my cup of tea Edit : finally i only had to adjust the reverse lights flares at the same position than the taillight so it was easy
The no textures issue is not related to 0.16, it's because you didn't downloaded the two parts of the mod, but only the addon pack. The well named addon pack is complementary to the main mod you can find by clicking on the orange button on the top of the page.
Olds rally wheels look great. Impala looks great. Chevrolet trunk emblem needs to be the on right side of the trunk-lid . Hardest part of the impala would be the dashboard, gauges and steering wheel. Nice progress. Cant wait to see the update.
The chevrolet alone is because i didn't made the impala badge already so i just removed the caprice classic one I even didn't check how badges are placed on the impala, but it won't be long. I have a living Caprice encyclopedia in the person of Sierra-3 I won't do a specific interior for the impala, sorry. Just see it as an exterior representation easy to add as the mesh is provided by carface80. I will just add the delta 88 simple bench seats to get closer to the low range the Impala was IRL. But i won't add details for ever
First Off, love this mod, crazy amount of detail put into this mod, been using this since the earlier stages. Recently though, im missing the interior floor boards on the models, i deleted and reinstalled the 2 files and its still missing, is there something im possibly missing? Thanks in Advance!
I'm wondering if there might be a possibility of the Monte Carlo, on initial appearances, it looks like the body is the same as the Regency coupe but as usual with GM 's cars of the era, the only difference is the nose piece and tail end. There was also the t-top ss and the (i think) aerosport? packages. Any chance for it in the future?
