Yesterday I noticed the UI (HUD and menus) became unusable slow unless I scaled down the window to the smallest size.
The speedometer, for example would stay at 0mph even though the vehicle would be moving at high speed, tested with D, H, T series, GM, both Pesimas, and some light and heavy mod vehicles.
Now the game window goes black after a few minutes on top of the slowed UI.
I have no clue how to diagnose this, I've cleared the cache, removed all mods, verified integrity, updated Windows, and updated my Nvidia drivers but nothing has worked.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Current Steam version 0.16.0.3

    System i5 3570, 8g ram, GTx1050 2g

If you use Windows 10, make sure Game Mode is disabled.
It will cause delays between what's happening on screen and what the UI displays ( https://www.beamng.com/threads/notice-turn-off-windows-10-game-mode.62635/ )

In 0.16 there's an experimental rendering mode for the UI.
It can cause issues on a few cases with particular setups (black screen or lag)
Try if in Safe Mode it works fine (which disables this setting).
If it does, go to Options > Graphics and uncheck the 'Hardware Acceleration for User Interface' setting (while in Safe Mode, if you cannot navigate there in the normal mode).
Close the game and start it again in the normal mode and check again.

Disabling hardware acceleration fixed it, running fine now with no immediate black screening.
    Thanks.
