Hey guys. I want to make a simple and easy suggestion. When you turn on the turn signal in a real car and proceed to turn the steering wheel, you usually hear a few clicks (combined with the casual sound the turn signal makes) while turning the steering wheel. I'd like this added in beamng drive. It's a small thing but it's gonna make a difference!

those clicks you hear when you turn the wheel are just to turn off the signal when you straighten the car.

I don’t get it. Do you want a noise for initially hitting the turn signal, as in the stalk clicking? Or did you want the actual signal mechanism to click? BeamNG has both.

I want the sound the turn signal stalk makes while turning the steering wheel. It makes 1 or 2 or 3 clicks depending on how much you turn the steering wheel

I’ve never experienced this, I’m not quite sure what you’re talking about.

I mean I don't think only my car does this. I guess you have a car right? Just turn on your car, turn on the left turn signal and turn the steering wheel to the left to full lock. I mean, you should be able to hear 2-3 clicks from the turn signal stalk right?

My car doesn't have power steering.. And I only hear the clicks whenever I turn the turn signal on and turn the steering wheel after

Maybe it's a Japanese thing? I don't really know at all at this point

I think he means the 'click' sound that indicates the auto-disengage thing.
Basically you put your signal, turn the wheel the same direction, and when you re-center the steering, the signal disengage automatically.
The click indicates when this mechanism kicks in.

My car does it (‘07 Odyssey). I think it’s like a ratchet thing that mechanically turns off the turn signal after a turn, so i guess newer cars don’t have it(?). That would be a nice addition though; all the little sound things like that really enhance the atmosphere of the game.

Yes exactly. The sound comes from the mechanism itself.

Yep. It would be an awesome addition. I'm pretty obsessed with turning on the turn signals in-game and I got confused on why it doesn't have the sound the mechanism makes

This is starting to become a odd mystery, definitely have to test if my car does this lol.

I know the "click" you're referring to, and it would be cool to see it ingame at a point.

most cars i've driven have this, but not all of them. must be differences in the mechanism that different car manufacturers use to actuate the signal cancellation.

I do not experience this in my car (1984 W126 Mercedes). Perhaps an exclusively Japanese thing?

Hahahahah Yea it actually does start to become an odd mystery. And I thought that it was an easy suggestion. The irony is real
    --- Post updated ---
Well yea I guess there is difference. Older cars were more mechanical than newer ones and probably the newer ones have electronic mechanisms or something (?)

Well as I said maybe it is a Japanese thing only. My car is (well was, since I sold it) a 1987 Nissan Pulsar. Definitely a cool feature though. Also double check that it doesn't exist in your car because maybe you've never noticed it

    80's Pulsars are cool!

Also, just tested my '98 Suzuki Swift and it does have the clicks!
Here's a reference video for people who does not know what it is:
