I'm so happy to finally see the Bluebuck in game. :D

Actually, AFAIK they've been a thing since at least up until the 1990's.

Also, could we be getting a new engine model for the older Gavrils? I only say this because the Bluebuck tease didn't have an engine model, which would likely be an almost direct port of the Barstows', and it may hint at a new mesh being made.

on the topic of the drag configs, the burnside's one needs a serious overhaul. the interior has no rollcage, or bucket seats (though that is somewhat understandable, making slots for bench and bucket seats would be a pain) it also has no wheelie bar, and unlike the other two in game currently, has very few body modifications to make it look of the era. even something as simple as a straight axle in the front, and a moontank in place of the front grille and bumper, (along with the aforementioned rollcage) would be enough to make it look and drive the part.
also, slight tangent, it would be cool if they added some more vintage style bucket seats alongside the modern nomi ones, something to go in the picolina corse, as well as the bluebuck and burnside drag cars.

Yay! Bluebuck! And yeah, the drag configs really need an overhaul.

Guys, we all see that chassis, but we don't take attention to the one small detail - the graphics on the video...
Graphics showed on video looks better and more realistic, than in-game. Maybe game finally get new engine or just graphics improvement?

I always run BeamNG.drive on max settings and usually with dynamic reflections.

The graphics don't seem different to me.

Well, I'd say that it definitely looks like a sedan body rolling around in the background. I was kind of hoping they'd really drop a bomb on us by showing off the optional wagon or ranchero body that I've been dreaming of. There's still probably time before the next update though - maybe they'll surprise us yet.

Anyhow, interesting to see the frame in its final form. Weird that it's the X-frame that Gabester specifically said it wouldn't be, but he has the right to change his mind. Hopefully it's beefier than it looks, just for the sake of demolition derbies. And the rear differential appears to have very little distance between the pinion centre and the axle center - that demo-car building trick of flipping the rear axle over for faster reversing speed might just be plausible for the Bluebuck!

How many of those cars are mass-market fullsizes from the early-to-mid 60s? (hint: absolutely none)

I think you missed my point. I'm well aware that they're not 60's fullsizes. I was giving examples of post 1963 cars that used vertical bumper bars.

Wut??? U just dont understand anything do you? PBR is not one plugin you put in your engine and be done... Pbr means that additionaly to normal and specular maps you have layers that define the Diffusion of reflections, sub surface scattering, refractiveness, metallicity, transparency... Even stuff like heightmaps are more or less part of pbr... Pbr is like raytraced shadows, gi, and reflections.. its just juother way to improve the realism of computer graphics.. why do you think red read redemption (and any other recent good looking game) looks so good... Well its pbr!!

Does not matter, the Bluebuck is neither a 70s compact, 70s personal luxury car, 80s SUV, 80s fullsize coupe nor a 90s premium fullsize sedan.

It's a 1963 mass-market fullsize, past the vertical bars' heyday.

I'm expecting/hoping to see the Barstow's engines and a 2 speed automatic (the GM Powerglide was commonly used even after the introduction of the Turbo-hydromatic 350 in 1967). A 4 speed manual would probably only be available on the higher end/performance models since almost everything had 3 speed manuals in the early 60s. Granted, Chrysler had the 3 speed Torqueflite on most models by 1960 which was a big performance improvement from 2 speed autos.

Not expecting to see additional body styles although a wagon and convertible would be nice. Beam really has to release a sedan Moonhowk first if they (hopefully and finally) add more bodystyles to existing models, followed by a wagon LeGran (wagons were popular among similar domestic midsizers then)

Hoping for more scenarios and new tracks next update made to test these old cars to their low limits! Particularly time trial and rally courses. That's why I have 450 hours on Beam.

Guys, I think the Bluebuck looks complete. Interior looks awesome, I'd say it's ready to come out next week.

The Bluebuck's thread is back open, so all discussion on it should probably move there.

OK, so here's what I can add to this discussion. Tell me if I'm wrong regarding any of the points I make.

What MrAnnoyingDude is trying to say (I think) is that while the vertical bumper bars did see resurgence in the later decades, they were out of fashion in the early-to-mid 60s and that, according to him, an early-to-mid 60s car having vertical bumper cars and you defending it by showing more modern cars having them, is like, idk, a 90s character embracing the 80s style and you defending that by showing examples of current 80s nostalgia. I think that's the point he's trying to make. MrAnnoyingDude, you should correct me if I'm wrong.

Now, I'm European, my knowledge of the history of American car styling is far from stellar. So, I went onto wikimedia commons, and yeah, it does seem like a vast majority of 1963 American full-size cars don't have vertical bumper bumper cars, or if they do, they are not quite as prominent.

That being, said, I did find some cars that have rather prominent vertical bumper bars. Curiously, both are Dodge cars (and even amongst the Dodge full-size cars, these are rare.) These are:

    A '64 Dodge Polara

    A '63 Dodge Custom 800

Yeah, so I do agree with the statement that the vertical bumper bars would stick out on a '63 Bluebuck (probably in a negative way.)

However, I don't think that's a reason enough not to have them. See, whenever I decide whether a car design feature is too weird for a BeamNG car, I ask myself "Is it weirder than the SBR4?" And I don't think it is in this case.

    EDIT.:
...well. Sorry 'bout that. I've spent a fair bit of my time typing this up. Didn't notice your post appearing in the meantime.
