The teasers of the Bluebuck in it's almost-complete stage are looking very promising so far...

I'm hoping that the devs would surprise us with the long-anticipated body-style options that we have been dreaming of. A tudor, station wagon, convertible, and an El Camino/Ranchero-like body style would be very appropriate for a US-built "run-of-the-mill" car from this era. :)

The thread was deleted in a forum glitch, but it is the next planned vehicle after the Bluebuck. Also the last vehicle on the original release list, IIRC.

    Surprise!

The reason you may be confused about the existence or nonexistence of these vertical bars (referred to by Chevrolet as "rear bumper guards"), is that they were optional equipment at the factory - a $10 option if you believe the Hemmings article on the car pictured above.

Even if you don't, here's a build sheet used by the factory workers to assemble 1964 Impalas at the factory. Note the 'RR. BUMPER GRD.' option box underneath the 'miscellaneous' heading. The image was retrieved from here - where you can also find a couple of pictures of full-size american cars of the period after accidents.

In any case, I think that this is one of those situations that @Nadeox1 mentioned where there's constructive criticism to be gained from feedback. It may be worthwhile for the dev team to go back and take a closer look into bumper variants - and how exactly those guards are assembled.

As far as I can tell, such bumpers were relatively rare options on the '63 880, which visually is a lot like the 2013 photos of the Bluebuck. If these bumpers show up only on some configs, then I'm cool with it. If they are on every config, then I can see room for debate.

Interesting how those have always been on the Bluebuck but no one mentioned them until now.

Either way, these are nowhere as big as those on the Bluebuck.

    Why are we yelling?
It was never "mothballed". The game has a small team, only a few of which are on the vehicle team. They can only work on so many things at a time, and this one was low on the priority list. The thing has been in game for months now, this is just the first time we've seen in.

(Is this the first time the initial teaser for a vehicle has been something other than a screenshot?)

You're forgetting a certain car that the bluebuck has some similarities to in general. The Checker Marathon had these bumpers from 1960-1974

    1964 model for reference:

Not to mention the Dodge 880 which this car looks very similar to had massive rear bumper guards with smaller ones on the front.

    1963 model

Either way they likely will (and should) be optional just as they were on the rear cars (like the Dodge).

Last planned vehicle from a survey list from a few years ago. Not the last vehicle though, as vehicles that weren't on the list have been made, like the ETK 800, ETK K-series, Wentward, and Autobello.

The Soliad Wendover is the last planned vehicle, that will be started after this is completed.

Sounds like he is refering to the "planned but not confirmed" fully electric vehicle that was mentioned
