Now for that, I can't wait. The Wendover, out of all the planned cars, is the one I've been looking forward to since well before I had the game. Finally, I'll be able to drive a substitute-Pontiac in BeamNG, even if it's not a Sunbird.

This might be kinda off-topic, but the Soliad 4000 mod adds a fictional Pontiac 6000 based off the LeGran

Not actually. I hear something about 2014 Gavril Roamer (Ford Explorer?) and sort-of lowrider/muscle car from the 70's

Those were from "the list", which the devs get upset whenever it gets brought up. That list was just early planning, and nothing on it is expected to be added. The soliad wendover is next, and after that probably new stuff, the list is so old and so much stuff has changed since then i doubt it will be usedm

I have been lurking here since the begining and an active member for a couple of years now. I have never seen any dev get upset at the concept list being mentioned, only community members.

Looks like it has an X frame just like the GM B Body cars of the early 60s. It's gonna crash well lol.

Are you asking for where it was mentioned?

Annoyed is probably a better word, yeah. But they are typically pretty fast to point out that it is just a concept list, and not at all a promise. But anyway, this is the bluebuck thread, not the update speculation thread.

I did notice the bubu has it's "engine bay crap", but no engine. Since there's no reason it would use a different engine than the barstow, it could be possible that we're getting new old Gavril V8s. It's probably about time, I'm pretty sure all classic V8s in game use the same model with different textures, and same for i6s.

Nope, the engines actually don't share models at all in any of the older cars. All of the Barstow's engine models are at least slightly different from one and other and the Burnside's engines are similar but not quite the same as the Barstow's (though the 313 and Burnside's 423 share a model). This makes sense because the V8s (except for the 291 which is a small block and has a more distinct model) are likely a part of the same engine family considering how they're all built by Gavril within 20 years of each other. However, the Moonhawk's is made up of a total of 7 polygons arranged in a V-esque formation with all of the engine bits textured on, and the I6 offering is also lower quality than the Barstow's. The Bluebuck will likely have direct rips of the Barstow's V8s, considering how they will likely be the exact same engine offerings, just 5 years prior to the Barstow.
I originally thought that we may be getting new engine models too, but the older Gavril/Burnside V8s are actually pretty high quality. I think now that the reason why we didn't see an engine in the frame tease is because they turned off its visibility like the body's. The engine bay crap was probably still there hinting at it being swappable, since it is a part of the main body's mesh in all current vehicles instead of the engine's.

The barstow V8s are all the same model, just slightly scaled to be a different size I think. I'm not sure about the others, they look very similar though. Unfortunately i don't have access to my PC so I can't check. But yeah, the engine is probably just hidden and I'm looking way to far into this.

They do look very similar, but a quick look at the mesh in Blender shows that they are all slightly altered models of one and other, and not just scaled.

Each of the Barstow's engines has its own model. The 353 and 423 are both very similar, but they use different models. You can check this in the Barstow's mesh by just opening it up in Blender (or a modeling software of your choosing) and looking at the meshes.

Eh, Frame doesn't look as well designed, structurally as I had hoped it'd be. We'll see what happens :)

Sadly, it's based on a real design. It's called an X-frame and it holds up about as well as you'd think in a crash.

Right, I was hoping it'd get the X-strengthened ladder frame like the old Imperials did in the 60s. It's like a ladder frame from a light pickup with this X-style frame inside of it. Very strong.

I, too, would have loved to see that. Unfortunately, 'twas not to be, so the Gavril light trucks (and, weirdly, the Ibishu Miramar) will probably continue to be the tankiest cars in the game for the forseeable future.
