Thank you for the kind words. This situation will be way better when the game will stabilize to a V1.0 beta release. Then modding could expend without the fear of things being broken.
Interestingly, if you overheat the rear drum brake, it will continue to smoke even after cool down. The front brake, however, can withstand 800+ °C and "only" fading, brake force recovers as they cool down.
yes, our "race" drums are a bit hacky, they never meant to have drums for race I guess, I'm not sure if race cars of this era wouldn't have rear disk?
Depends on the series. "Classic" series need to have period correct or close-to-factory specs things in general. So wider drums and maaaybe disks if they were used back then already.
There are/were rear disc brakes in the GM parts bin that could be fitted on live axles. Since this is a race car, it's therefore custom and anything could be added, not just factory parts.
If the race drums are aluminum, they will melt and permanently break if they spend too much time over 660 C.
Brakes could be permanently break, but is shoudn't smoke after cooled down, in the screenshots above. They continue to smoke at 8°C, is it a bug?
I found some inconsistencies of parts selection. For example the highway patrol SPECIAL, the Delta 88 uses rear drum brake and rear drag tires and the Regency uses rear drag brakes and rear race tires, making the handling different. And the Regency Restomod coupe has LSD in it while the sadan has an open diff. Also, the sound transition to idle is very smooth in the Codename Prototype, not smooth in the Regency.
When all this is done, I hope you could seriously work on this! https://www.beamng.com/threads/heolia-vendome.37683/
All my windows and lights on the police skin have no texture, and one has completely no texture. I have cleared the cache and deleted old mod and still has no texture. Im not sure why please can you tell me why I would love to try this mod out
You most likely have a conflicting mod, or your game is perhaps outdated. Or maybe you have not installed the correct files. Did you install both the codename_oldsfullsize AND the addon pack for it?
Probably this has been asked before but... Will we ever get a rebranded version of the addon pack for the repository? This is kind of a weird preference of mine and I'm not sure if anyone else shares my opinion, but i hate having a real car in my menu among all the fictional cars. However, this mod is way ton good not to have... (seriously, its a top quality mod and I love it) so i can't get myself to remove it... A lore-friendly rebranding of it would be super appreciated :0 I get I can't ask you to rebrand your whole mod for just one weird user (if nobody else feels like me) and i also guess if you haven't done it already you probably don't want to... And I respect that, it's your mod. But thought i'd ask anyway ^^ As I said before, I love the mod, the only other thing I don't like apart from the lack of rebranding is the thumbnails not matching the vanilla thumbnails, this mod is awesome and I love driving and crashing all the cars in it, they are awesomely done. Good job!
I believe he can't because of the model not being his or something like that, and also he doesn't really wanna, that would be a fair amount of work piled ontop of what he is working on now.
Thank you. No it's not planned to do a rebranded version, which is only the second time it's requested. Most people prefer the real branded version. I own an Oldsmobile et this is why i did this mod. As for the thumbnails, first point is that the game thumbnail generator uses black showroom itself, and second point is that in this mod they are handmade, to stick to the very high quality stuff DJplopper did for the first release. Well, only the Caprice model and wagon is a guest mod, all the other models are mine, with a small bit of the Regency i had purchased to an aspiring 3D modeler at the beginning of the project, to get started with something and learn 3D again. Then when i got using Blender with more ease, i redid the Regency model and made the Delta 88 out of it. Carface80 would have no problem if the Caprice was rebranded but i don't plan to do that.
Well, all credits are given in the first page, which is very long, i admit. It's a very collective mod at the end and beyond the final product i received some nice and durable friendship
