Driving around the lake. I still think I could do more with this area... if I was a better driver.

I was working on adding/fixing fissures on the map, perfect opportunity to add ramps. That big (I think its a radio tower) building has a trigger around it that doesn't seem to work, but I think it is meant to start playing music since it has a sound effect sphere inside of it.

A little free camera around the fissure area.

    Driving around the fissure area.

Thank you!! I actually started playing around with the map editor and a throw-away version of the map that Dunewulff gave me, and once I thought I had at least mostly figured out how the level creator worked I started editing the actual map.
I'm only adding to the map, I'm not going to remove anything that was already in place, but this was useful because I had plenty of things to build upon.
Also, I've had the game for a while but I'm normally a console player because my Windows computer is old, so I haven't really played it. I loved the Burnout games so that's more or less what I've been using as a reference for level design items as well.
If anyone has any other good racing games that would be useful to reference please tell me! :)

    Thanks I appreciate it!!

Okay, I'd like some opinions on this.
Dunewulff left a bunch of royalty-free music files in the Sound folder of the map, and it's obvious that he was trying to make a sort of trigger-based radio station type thing on the map. The songs vary between sort of surf-rock to spaghetti western music.
Should I try to add these to the map? I don't want to focus on something if people don't necessarily want it.

You should try adding it to the throwaway version if you want to try. Maybe ask him and figure it out. It probably wouldn't be there if he didn't want it.

I can certainly add that somewhere!
In fact, I'm open to any ideas that anyone wants to present.
Well I talked to him about it but he said he was likely going to scrap it as it didn't work as he intended. I could work on it myself, but like I said, I want to see if people think its worth it or not.

Are rail lines a possibility? People are coming out with some cool trains.
Don't want to press you on this if it would take too much effort, but it might be cool.

Oh no, I hope your health will recover well!

I just saw this, from some reason I had not seen the notification.

Sadly I don't have more information about it, it is on my very long list of things to experiment and learn, but it might take many months until I can start even dreaming of experimenting with such.

You might find help from Torque3D forums that link pointed to, essentially Torque 3D and BeamNG share lot of how everything works, but then there is always few differences that make nasty surprises.

About music, if you have possibility, do try it, DW maps have always had some awesomely weird thing in them, so if you can get it to work well it might be really cool.

that looks like a fun time waiting to happen
    good job lol
also- what @AntiqueT mentioned: raillines would be amazing. especially if they were all rusty and run down, but still usable.
    it'd be really unique.

If someone would be willing to share their rails, I probably could.

Sorry that I dropped off the face of the Earth, been having some medical issues that have relapsed after many years... been a major setback in making any progress.

Unfortunately, Dunewulff has made it clear that he doesn't plan on coming back to BeamNG for the foreseeable future. Don't shoot the messenger. :/

Hey I played the original MotorStorm back in the day. Once my new medication finally kicks in I might toss my hand at making one.
I've got tons of level ideas, but currently I'm busy with work and dealing with my own medical problems, hopefully that'll be sorted soon though. :)

He still is a cheerful person. :) Just going through a real rough patch in life.
I don't want to discuss his medical problems, as that's his business. But rest assured he is slowly recovering.

Doesn't the PIKE'S PEAK map use an 8192x8192 terrain? I couldn't get 8k to work here but 4k works all day long.
Sorry for the old post - just saw it now.
Does look pretty awesome though - must admit - the similar looking Canyon of Speed from 2014 or so made me buy this game. Gosh I couldn't count how many dozens if not hundreds of pianos I've pushed off cliffs in that map, good to see I'll have some new cliffs to hurt pianos with.
    --Looks good!

When your coordinates are off, sometimes you can find a setting to fix your object origin. Coordinates being off can also cause objects to flicker in and out even though you can see the object itself (but not it's origin point).
The way I fix this (it's happened) is just selecting all the faces of my objects that are already at 0,0,0 , and then moving the faces all at once to somewhere very near the coordinates (usually setting the origin point to 'centered' can help too). If you move objects entirely from object mode and don't use the faces, vertices, or lines all at once selected to move it, it will just move the coordinates. Coordinates not being 0,0,0 can cause many issues like collisions being off.
*Most all these things I mentioned are done within the 3D modeling software, it may be different than Maya which I use here. It's not done from within the BeamNG map editor (just a clarification).
As I mention to everyone, beware of the mad DRAW CALL overlord. He steals performances and puts you in low FPS purgatory if you have to many non-sewn UV faces.

@krallopian If you need objects, I'm building a city map with LOTS of city map objects, all in a modular fully-reusable fashion. PM me if you need access to the sources (as a staff-member, you get complimentary access to it upon request). I don't have balloons, but there's quite a bit everything else to build a city with, especially infrastructure. Already a year+ into this project (as of May) so it's decently progressed into something.
