I don't know if anyone else feels the same way but I just started playing this game again since I last played it mid last year and I feel that the turbo sounds don't sound as good as they used to. I mean the supercharger sounds are great and same for the bov sounds for turbos but there is really no spooling sound for the turbos anymore since I guess they changed that in one of the updates. is there any way to contact the devs and ask about such thing because it would be cool to have turbo spooling sounds like the one in the video I linked. Thank you to anyone that takes the time to reply.

I agree with you that the turbo sound (both balancing and the sound itself) can be improved. Don't forget that in your video the microphone is just under the turbo so it sound way more loud (and the turbo seems to be really fat compared to the sound he does). And the sound in beamng is improved in every updates, they changed the turbo sound like 10 times since 0.3 ? All the sounds in beamng aren't final (i think ?) and will get tweaked/changed in future updates.

Yeah I understand what your saying. I just miss being able to hear the turbo spool up and make boost. But yeah I hope they update the sound to a better spool up or maybe make it so the turbo is louder with a more open exhaust like in real life.

Irl, especially in stock, or even lightly modified cars, you aren´t able to hear the turbo at all.
My moms 2004 (I think) Seat Leon Turbo i.e. has a sport intake and you aren´t able to hear it even under continious load.

Yes, I agree that on the top end of the line, a turbo with 20+ psi of boost pressure is a bit too quiet. In general I think the addition of selectable Bovs and better sounds would be nice.
Of couse this "might" be a thing for future updates tho, the devs have surprised us several times over the years.

Some turbodiesels have pretty loud turbos. In my mom's 2002 Škoda Octavia you can clearly hear the turbo spooling any time you open the window at low speeds. Then there are trucks with modified exhausts and intakes which sound like a jet engine. The only in-game vehicle that i remember having distinct turbo sound is the t-series and that is only about as loud as my mom's octavia(which has a 1.9 L I4). You can edit the j-beam to get a somewhat decent sound, but it takes a lot of time and it might also break with updates.

when you open the window yes. 2L DCi Renault Espace has a turbo sound, and also the 3L DCi had a distinct whooshing sound when it was driven hard (echoing off the shrubbery/houses outside).

Even my Grandmother's Vauxhall Crossland X gives a little whistle with the window down, and the turbo on that has roughly the same diameter as a straw, on a little 1.5 diesel.

Maybe the lower boost or more civilised cars are fine with quiet turbos, but the higher boost cars definitely need more volume. Even running 60+ PSI, the turbo doesn't sound very aggressive or loud. I can't remember if the devs ever saw it, but I had recommended in the past that it might be a good idea to add parts that muffle the turbo (such as factory airbox vs induction kit, engine cover, sound deadening etc), but can be removed to liven up the sound. It doesn't take much work to made a turbo nice and loud IRL, my mate had an old Audi S3 that fluttered like an old rally car.
