could we stay on topic and ditch the childish stuff? The cake thing was funny and all, but this isn't a "Senseless comments on update speculations" thread. (referring to messages like the above as well)
bro I don't even know what you're going on about, those are on topic. They might be a little whacky but it's on topic none the less. I would enjoy seeing some base skins in the game with like minimal wear as to help with immersion since I don't think a super brand new car is something that is just everywhere.
80s Full-Size Coupe Solidad Wendover: Am I a joke to you? I really hope that when the LeGran is updated it receives a lot more customization options and things to do with it. Currently it is by far the most forgettable car in the game, and that makes me a bit sad. I hope that the LeGran will be relived quite a bit in the future... Also, that is very red and I have not seen it before. Has probably been posted somewhere in the forums already, but I am very interested now... What exactly will replace the wiki, another new thing that is to be speculated about.
I swear, if the new Documentation system is a Thorough and HIGHLY Detailed documentation on almost EVERYTHING when it comes to making vehicles and maps (everything related to both) then I will be EXCITED.
I'd love the career mode to have an online shop like ebay where we can all trade and auction cars and parts with each other.
Does anyone think we'll get a first person walk around camera? If the garage already in game would be used for career mode as a place to modify or repair our car and or get jobs etc, it would add to the immersion to be able to walk around the garage to different parts of it for different interactions
To really make career mode playable, you’d need: Walking camera Ability to open car doors and get in/out Voice overs for cutscenes Better ambient noises AI traffic can blow horn, flick lights if you get too close, and swerve https://www.beamng.com/threads/lets-talk-about-police-pursuits-in-beamng-drive.63257/ Realistic police pursuits What about when you crash really, really hard to the point where your character wouldn’t survive? If you crashed your car more mildly, would police and ems show up? Maybe activate a cutscene?
Considering the realism and how sensitive cars are in this game to damage, I'd guess resets are available, and to keep the game's rating from becoming mature, anything implying death or injury probably won't be put in. I'd really like if there was a hardcore option though, which involved a car being totally written off if crashed hard enough, or repairs always costing money to fix, that would really change the way you'd want to actually drive and act because there's a lot more to lose.
It would be awesome if there was something like that when you crash, you need to wait for an ambulance and for a tow truck. I really hope it will be hardcore, where the condition of your car will be important. I wonder how the damage will work, if I damage my car in freeroam will the damage be carried over to an event? And vice versa?
i would really love to have a character and be able to walk around our car (like in RoR) but it would make some problem when driving, you have a character and you can walk with him, but you can't see him in your car ? It would look a bit dumb, and i don't think the devs would do a static driver who absolutely not move while driving
A good compromise would be to have a camera that's affected by gravity and collisions, around human height to walk and interact with objects with
This has potential to lead to the "fully rendered driver" idea over time. Always think ahead, my man.
I would be fine if the career mode was just managing persistent cars. I am not fussed about a driver or first person walking around. I want to buy old second hand cars and try to acquire replacement parts and then be able to use them for missions, races or sales. Keeping out of debt would be the challenge.
Entering a car could just use the already implemented driver camera, it wouldn't be any extra work. One simple camera when getting out of a vehicle shouldn't have anything to do with the other. Take for example car mechanic simulator, there's no player model, only a camera view. The player model Jbeam if needed, could just be a simple square shape just so you cant phase through stuff
I personally don't want a person, having a person means pedestrians and etc. It will take more work and in my opinion, ruin the game's vibe ya know what I mean.
