Had a bit of a crash
    IMG_20190803_184345.jpg

Rode a friends bike (I have ridden it before a number of times before), the front inner tube failed and the tyre folded on a compression, launching me straight out the front door. Where I body slammed the incline opposite with my elbow and chest. My right thigh is also swollen quite nicely too.
But these things happen I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The bike was also fine thankfully. I Would have felt pretty bad if I had damaged it.

Some basic placeholder wheels, some seats to serve as a positional reference for the interior, and panel gaps:

Headlights need a remodel at some point but that's gonna be tedious.

Yeah, I guess I may have spoken to soon though. Currently in a hospital ward, don't know how long I have to be here for, but certainly overnight tonight.
My understanding is that there is some slight damage to either my kidney or something in that system, it doesn't seem to be serious, but the hospital wants to keep an eye on me just to be sure.

But as you say, I'm still alive and kicking, even if I am stuck in the confines of a ward.

    EDIT:
Just got results back from all tests. Apparently l have a stage 3 kidney laceration. They think it will sort itself out since I am quite fit. Hopefully I won't have to spend too long here :/

This post might get a bit real. So consider yourselves warned.

Its sounds really obvious, but hospital wards are not an uplifting place to be. There are 6 people in my ward, myself included. About 4 of them look to be in their final years. One of which is barely capable of responding to human input, isnt conscious enough to understand what is going on around them, and has tried to get up out of bed a few times, along with being abusive towards some nurses. I don't know what his condition is of course, but they are clearly very not well, and in pain. It really makes you think about life in general, including the death part. He is visibly struggling. Clearly his position is not a comfortable one, he hasn't had any visitors to see him today.

I don't know how the nurses manage to stay quite so positive and nice to interact with. They genuinely are amazing people.

The other thing I have found is that internal injuries are kinda scary to have. With a broken arm, you know what is wrong, and how long it will take to fix. You can see and feel what is wrong. I on the other hand barely feel injured, outside of the scuffs, and plastic needle in my arm. So it's impossible for me to tell whether things are getting better or not, or how bad the problem actually is. But I am not currently allowed to walk or move around. And I have no idea if its going to heal on its own, or how long I will be here for. Maybe just one night, maybe a week or more if things don't go my way. It's quite sobering.

I hope you get better soon and that the condition and behaviour of other patients won't influence you in a negative way.

    Thanks :)
I'm sure I'll make it out the other side a more enlightened person.
I just hope that it will heal on its own without needing any metal inserted. I don't like having needles stuck in me at the best of times, so the thought of having an operation, however minor, it's weighing on my mind.
I just wish there was some reassuring sign that showed an upwards trend. Or for a doctor to tell me that the odds of recovering without intervention are on my side. But due to the internal nature of the injury, even with the ultrasound and ct scans, it's obviously very hard to judge.
That said, they've been keeping good tabs on me, I'm not losing blood, and am not in much pain. So I can only take those as good signs.

At least I only have my health to stress over.

I'm somewhat surprised and delighted to hear that I am going home today. I have to spend 2 weeks resting in bed, and a further 10 weeks not participating in any sports/doing anything strenuous.

Yeah good to hear you made it out of the hospital ! :)
Ending up in hospital, as a young person, major or minor, or even as a visitor, it always puts ones feet a bit
closer to the ground for a while doesn't it ? I always try to enjoy being no too old yet but the older I get the more
careful I become for certain actions or situations. :)
Hope you get better soon !

So I just lost my gaming hard drive. Rip to all my screenshots. I’m going to try and recover some but it’s not looking good. Maybe an excuse to switch to ssd

How high is your front door damn... :p :p

Worst thing is when you get a nosebleed, blood everywhere lots of mess takes 10 irritating minutes doing basically nothing then you clean up dried blood..!

Since you ask, the front door is normal UK door height. What you see in that picture however, is a window, of standard UK housing estate window height. But I gotta say, on reflection, it does look bigger than it is in that picture.

Made a non-car model to get some practice in Blender now that 2.8 has majorly improved things.

This is my first completed 3D model complete with UV mapping - UVs are way easier than in 3DS, too - and I'm pretty pleased with it.
