I don't know if this is good plan or not..

    My laptop has recently died.
Pulged it in, opened it up turns on, and the as soon as it turned on, died no power to the batterie nothing.

So I had the idea to reuse the HDD for now until I get the proper ssd or m.2 for it.

So with that idea I was wondering if the HDD drive would work in the desktop I would be building to save the 700 GB+ of games and everything else in there. Reason I have slow internet, and only 50GB a month.

The HDD from my laptop is western digital 5400 rpm, and it had acer software, Intel software on it for the CPU and don't know if it will conflict with the AMD CPU on boot up.

    The build I'm making:
    AMD Ryzen 5 3600x
    G.SKILL Trident Z RGB (For AMD) 16GB DDR4
ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) ATX Motherboard with PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2
RTX 2060 or RTX 2060 Super

The harddrive that you are using would be slower than an ssd, but it will definitely work on your computer if it has sata connections on it. If it does, you could just plug it in to your power supply and motherboard.

I would advise getting an ssd as soon as possible.
