Well, I did a lot today. First off, I cruised on down to the gas station and bought basically every belt and fluid possible, and changed a lot of that kind of stuff out on the BuBu's engine. I also rented a trailer and trailered it to a shop because I don't either want to or know how to seat tires or drop a fuel tank. It also doesn't help that I don't have a proper garage. Now the Bluebuck is at least drivable, and now (relatively) safe. I also stopped for dinner, seeing as there's literally nothing in my house. I have no possessions except my briefcase, cars, and clothes on my back. I decided to buy a pillow and blanket, too. I might as well make sleeping on the floor as comfortable as possible. I give @zestyfolfdude a call. "Hey, I'm calling you from Firwood. What's up with you? Are you on a plane? I guess not, I'm calling you. In Belasco? Somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Maine?"
I spot @98crownvic 's pickup and bluebuck. "Nice, another bluebuck. Doesn't look in as good condition as mine though. Hope it is getting restored" *I pull over to a Firwood cafe and order a coffee.*
*goes home* *sees @brien_w and @98crownvic having bluebucks* “Huh, those 2 have bluebucks huh, interesting. Ive seem more bluebucks here recently.” *goes to a cafe in firwood*
I went and picked up the 423 from my parents' house with my truck on my way home from work yesterday. On my way to work this morning, the Bluebuck picked up a nasty valve rattle. Guess I might be building an engine sooner than I anticipated. I was hoping to wait so I could gather more funds for the big block swap but I may just have to bite the bullet if the 6 cylinder lets go.
That was some good coffee. I wonder if the other Bluebuck owner would like to chat..? It is really a good car, kinda suprised that they just came back in style, and not a couple years ago.
( I feel like this update is so major that I must have a new character, lol. ) Name: Fredrick Thompson Age: 26 Home: Firwood, MI Car(s): Inherited Bluebuck RS, my old / abused off-road build. Job: Owner / Manager of " The Big Shrimp Restaurant & Tavern " ( Family owned business. )
Attention: For anyone interested, there will be a classic car show in Firwood. Cars will be parked along the road here:
Seems like mostly bluebucks are gonna be here. Anyone have an old Burnside, Miramar, or maybe a Piccolina?
Maybe some other people will show up in some different cars. --- Post updated --- That looks powerful... I might be able to get one of my friends over in his Miramar.
-The next day- I'll be leaving for the car show in a few minutes, I just need to grab my wallet and I'll be on my way. That Burnside is wild! Can't wait to see it! --- Post updated --- And we're off!
The car show isn't even officially open and there's already quite a few cool cars lining the street and quite a buzz in the bar. This is going to be a good car show!
I'm heading over with my friend. We're speeding a bit... --- Post updated --- Hope no one stupid in a covet hits the cars.
Ah shit. So it appears that my Bluebuck finally dropped a valve after almost 200K miles and 57 years. It had a bad tick for a little while now but I guess it's time to drop the big block in. Thankfully I convinced my dad to come pick me up and go to the show in his Barstow. We just pulled in and it looks like we're in front of @Tuner from America 's car. I don't see @brien_w yet however.
Looks like @brien_w and his friend just rolled up. There are also a lot of other cars starting to fill in. Just as I go into @Tuner from America 's restaurant to talk and grab a bite to eat, the clapped out Covet on cut coils rolls up, sitting on the rev limiter constantly.
