(First of all I wasn't sure which forum to post this in so I put it in 'Content Creation' so sorry if this is in the wrong thread)

So up until about 7 months ago I was making mods for Automation, by making IRL cars for Beam, but I stopped due to partly running out of ideas, but I wanted to create a REAL mod from scratch. I posted that on my thread in December 2018. Its July 2019 and I have no clue what to do (I dont even know what car i'm going to make)
The problem is I am pretty trash at computer coding and software (All I can really do is touch type and build a computer from parts, thats pretty much the extent of my computer knowledge). A few months back I followed a tutorial on how to build a basic car on YouTube using templates on Blender, but I found it really hard following what this guy said and what stuff meant. I have seen on other mods people using the chassis of a pre existing beamNG car and I was wondering if that was any easier and if anyone had any tips or experience of using blender!
P.S. please dont joke around and call me a noob or something, because iam serious this time and I have taken my time doing research ( I started casually looking about a year ago) so yeah any help is appreciated :)

I recently had the urge to create a mod too, I had zero experience and dispite everyone advising against starting with a vehicle I gave it a go.

Using a combination of the wiki, downloading the example car and watching several blender tutorials I was able to get a somewhat functional mesh and jbeam to show up in game (it's a frame based go-kart with no suspension, wheels or engine that can barely support its own weight and wobbles all over the place). However since doing so I've realised the only way to improve it is to start all over again as I made some fundamental errors at the start.

Making a stable jbeam can be as complicated as creating a real vehicle, possibly even more so if you're practically minded like me. But don't let that put you off, as with anything practise and patience will get you there eventually.

Definitely have a look at the example and official vehicles in blender and Notepad++, start by understanding what is already there then start tweaking to see what happens.

I don't think there's any specific advise I can give you, it's all about solving each small problem one at a time and building from there. Good luck!

hi, it kinda seems embarrassing to ask at this early stage but I have hit a brick wall at Part 1 'File Structure' stage, and I have followed all the instructions but not vehicle is showing up in the vehicle list like its supposed to?

why do you have folders called info.json and tutorial.jbeam? those should be actual files.

don't even think about trying to make a full car as you first mod, how do I know this?
Look at my profile and check threads I created.

That sedan that was supposed to be electric, based on the EKT800 frame, inspired by a late Volvo S90,have digital internal mirrors and be sexy af?
Yeah lol nope, I'm going to try make a new front for the Bluebuck and Moonhawk first, then a wheelset, then a bunch of headlights and stuff. Then maybe give the Gavril van an interior and turn it into a minibus, then, and only then maybe a car.
