BeamNG has some incredible attention to detail that other car games simply do not bother with. I remember driving the hillclimb sunburst really fast and noticing the back wing bend slightly due to the downforce and it blew me away to see such a thing. But it also gave me an idea that would be alittle neato to see. Why not create slipstreams? reducing the downforce of vehicles behind you for a certain distance might not be much, but realism is the goal right? Just an idea.
Aerodynamics are already in game, hence the plane mods. Not sure if aerodynamics of one car affect another though.
Slipstreams i recall are not implemented due to complexity of having the aero of one vehicle affect the other.
Effectively the car in front is affecting the cars behind. All i did was try to word a solution simply.
Yeah, i know. Im just saying i recall the devs saying once that slipstream was too complex and was ntot added.
I didn't know this has been discussed before, but i also disagree. If BeamNG was trying to create an advanced windsystem in which wind was a seperate force that could move around objects and jolt them as a fast car went by, i might say "that could be complicated". Decreasing the drag of a car behind you may not be.
Im not arguing that it is complicated or not. Im just relying to you the message of what the devs said once.
What would you consider a relay then? Im telling you what i heard the devs say once. I dont know what else you expect.
